I think the tabegoro trademark could mean a new game and banana blitz one is used for protecting their ip but who knows.

Eh it’s not good, like at all. The Wii controls were awful and unresponsive when all anybody wanted was a true sequel to the original 2.

I had this game on 3DS. Was really easy.

Because why remaster and re release the first two beloved games....

Gimme 1+2 remastered as a single package. Make it 40 bucks. Ya got yourself a deal.

I would love them to do those in HD (1 &2) and how about F-ZERO GX while we'really at it, SEGA....

I love this game but I don't think it needs to be rereleased or remade. It still works just fine on Wii. People who say the controls are bad probably just suck at it. The mini games are great fun too.

Banana Blitz is a pretty solid game but I can't help but wonder why they would choose to bring that game back instead of the original two. Regardless, it's interesting nonetheless and it doesn't guarantee they will remake the game.

I'm just more excited for Rolled Out as it's inspired from the original two Monkey Ball titles.

@Wavey84 I got an HDTV veeery early on about 2007 so you could well be right. Metroid Prime 3 always felt quite imprecise too so that might be what it was. Ah well, you learn something new every day!

Why Banana Blitz?

I’ll buy any Monkey Ball they bring to the Switch! Though, I wasn’t crazy about the DS game.

Not what would I like, but let's be honest. People just hate on this game without actually taking a deeper look into it.

While is nowhere on the caliber of the first 2 games, this one is alright. Colorful levels, music, the game has it's good and unique points. It's after this, that future games took a landslide dip... (step n roll was disappointing, except for perhaps the music)

Wonder what they will do, but just seems to me that is more of a renovation of the trade mark, not a re release or something.

Yeah, Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 are the best, but I've enjoyed Banana Blitz too. At least it has Monkey Target! I'm excited for this if it's coming. I'd also really like for Sega to bring F-Zero GX(and AC), SMB 1 and 2, Chu Chu Rocket, Samba de Amigo, Jet Set Radio Future, and Sega Rally to Switch.

@Kevember I do have this game and could play it on my Wii U, but the Wii really wasn’t for HD. I would be interested in a Switch port.

Would prefer the original, but would probably get this.

Why that one? The first 2 are vastly superior and this one was a bit rubbish to be honest

I don’t remember Super Monkey Ball 1&2 using the analog triggers for anything, right? Did the racing mini game use them as a gas pedal or brakes? That is the one GC controller feature that could complicate bringing GC titles to the Switch.

@60frames-please Monkey Target, Monkey Bowling, Monkey Golf — all great mini games. Too bad Blitz doesn’t have Monkey Billiards.

I am leaning towards thinking this is just standard practice of renewing IP trademarks. Happens all the time. The 'ripe' trademark however I am thinking is a collection. Hopefully something will be announced at E3.*

Now, that may read like a rational post but inside I am screaming lol.

I played it on CRT back then and it felt laggy and unresponsive, the IR was always more responsive option over the accelerometer. If I recall Nintendo originally wanted a gyro in the remote but was cut so they had to rely on the accelerometer which is far less precise and 1:1, they were never happy with this which is why motion plus happened. If Nintendo shipped Wii with gyro in 2006 I think you would have seen way more games today on both Switch and PS4 using them.

Edit: I forgot about the second one on the GameCube. ^^' But I guess he meant the first one on Wii as well.

@Tandy255 Yeah, those are the best especially Bowling 2, Target 2, and Billiards 2 from Super Monkey Ball 2. I also had fun with Monkey Fight, Race, and racing in the regular levels. Monkey baseball was ok.

Please just give us either the first or second one from the gamecube

The first two games are the only ones Sega should reissue. The rest are passable to bad.

Sega you said you couldn't be bothered to release Skies of Arcadia since Gamecube got already latest edition. But you come with this game? Sigh

I loved the original Super Monkey Ball, mainly played the mini game where you'd launch yourself off the ramp and glide across the ocean to the score boards. My friends and I would open the ball as close to the ocean as poss, anyone who would crash and burn would have to do a shot anyone who failed to land on the score board would have to do a shot it made a great drinking game lol

I bought Banana Blitz on Wii's launch. I remember wading through those 50 mini games with clunky, broken motion controls. Talk about a sign of things to come... I sold it not long after. Shame, as I loved the Gamecube game.

Guess my wishlist is becoming a thing! Loved the 3 on Gamecube (even the adventure), owned all 3, owned the one on DS, 3DS and Vita, and even have the one on PS2 (granted it was just the second re-made). They were all a lot of fun, but part 2 on Gamecube was definitely the best. Been waiting for a while, but looks like a new one will be made. Honestly, I hope it not only releases on Switch, but also PS4. Would really love to have on on the Playstation VR, but not sure on how great it would actually be...could be the vomit-inducing game on that!!!!

It’s time for a new Monkey Ball game. Or remake.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz has always been my personal favorite entry in the series. It has great original level design and boss fights. It also has a ridiculous amount of mostly-fun mini games. I know the motion controls are a point of contention, but I'm sure in 2019 SEGA will make them optional on Switch. Maybe this game will finally get the attention I always thought it deserved! So excited that Monkey Ball (hopefully) is coming back!

Lol, why would monkey ball games need a remake guys. Collection cool, but remake just isnt necessary for a game simple in design and barely aged visually. Should be asking for sequels.

The Wii version is selling for very little so I would just buy that version if I wanted to.

I honestly don’t get why people speculate trademarks so much, since they’re usually just so they can keep the rights for their products.

I loved part 2 on the GC, especially playing pool with friends.

I'd re-buy any Monkey Ball for Switch, esp with multiple control options.
