Originally announced within the game's news section, the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat League is at last upon us. The first season has been (unsurprisingly) branded "The Season of Blood".
Starting from 18th June and running for the next four weeks, all players will be able to climb from Apprentice to Elder God rank. Levelling up will depend on how well you fare against online opponents and moving up ranks will reward participating "kombatants" with exclusive event armour and equipment. So, if you like to stand out among your friends, this might be a better way to achieve your desired look, rather than spend hours on end in the Krypt.
Coincidently, if you have purchased the complete Season Pass, 18th June is also the date Shang Tsung will become available for early access. There's also the option to buy Shang Tsung as standalone DLC next week on 25th June.

@MasterGraveheart same here. Great initiative for those that play online but I'm absolutely useless and got rid of my Nintendo Online as I don't have much time to game so much anymore.
I hope that scorpion will have a skin thats just a poorly plastered 3D model of a real scorpion. Just a still image of a scorpion fighting would be the best thing ever

I've just got the game, glad its getting the support on the Switch. The game is very big, shame it doesn't really work offline to be fair.
Im still not sure what the time crystals are used for!

@MrJJ77 I will update the news if necessary because that was my understanding as well. I only put that on the article because Shang Tsung is up on the ingame news ticker Switch version of MK11. Guess we will find out soon.

I think its great!!Loads of single player content like loads its crazy and inarguably never ending. Online wise i played a few games but im pretty rubbish so cant say ive played that much. But its a good selection plus the above has now launched

@Alztru I've been playing it daily since it launched, though not on Switch. If you're an MK fan or a traditional fighting game fan it's definitely worth it. IMO the best game in the series.
The Switch version is indeed included in the early access. It just downloaded an update and Shang Tsung and the Klassic Ninja pack are indeed in there!
Why aren't we included in the early access? Makes no sense at all.

What happened was the trailer for Shang Tsung gameplay said early access is included in the Kombat Pack for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Some Reddit users spotted that in the trailer and assumed Switch wasn’t included. However, if you play MK 11 it clearly says on the Kombat Store early access on the Switch. sighs keep in mind people thought Switch wasn’t getting the premium version as well.

@nab1 Thanks but if I get it, it will be on the switch, so I would like to know how it plays there, especially online. Specifically, i would like to know if you find matches online easily and if it is laggy or smooth.

@Alztru kind of self explanatory new reason to play brings more people to the online, new character. Hard to tell what the actual online community was before when ive had it for a week as mentioned previously.
