Here's the YouTube version of the above trailer:
And here's a bit more information about this Capcom title, according to the eShop description:

I have wanted this game on Switch since the system was first announced. Finally broke down and got it on PS4 last summer because I was tired of waiting. See how much I can get on a trade-in at my local shop....
Oh, and FIRST!!!
I knew this game was $29.99 a few months back, when it was announced for Switch. Still, it's good to see it at that price on eShop, for some reason. Makes me want to support this game, tbh.
Never played this game before, so I can't wait. It looks fun.
30 bucks is surprisingly agreeable considering this is coming from Capcom, at least in light of their recent pricing for the Resident Evil games.
I preordered this physically. This is the type of game ive been wanting to play.
@Dpishere Capcom has been awesome in their pricing. Except for this batch of Resident Evil games. Like I have no idea how they gaffed on those so badly.
@Indielink Yeah I guess the Resident Evil thing sticks out in my mind alot more than it should but to be real you are right, most of the time the games are fairly priced, now the whole separate download for physical games is a whole different matter, but in terms of prices, they are typically good about them.
It's still lame that Capcom is using the sale of this game to persuade Switch owners to port beg for Devil May Cry 5. Probably one of the most childish and untrustful company of this gen and on top of that purposely making compilation of game that is not even a compilation as the other half always came as a download code.
@AlternateButtons the abilty to scail the larger monsters like a smaller scail SotC and the combat is fairly difrnt to most games that are similar that iv played atlest
My thoghs om the game haveing close to done everything in the original inc DLC its a ok game thogh lacks in content and intresting/big boss fights. Il mabe pick this up again as it was a ok time sync sorta wish it was bundled with Dragons Dogma Online...
Loving all these new games coming out. Keep it going!
I'd be a lot more positive about this if Capcom wasn't using Dragon's Dogma's sales to hold DMC 5 hostage.
On it. This game is incredible. It was my number one wanted Capcom game on the Switch after Monster Hunter (which we also got with MHGenUlt).
@AlternateButtons
Think Skyrim mixed with Dark Souls, but with combat like Monster Hunter (seriously top shelf combat), with all the crazy monsters you’d expect but more WRPG variety- crazy beasts you’ve only dreamed of (lions with serpents for a tail, Dragons, trolls, etc) and you can mount enemies like in Monster Hunter, but with a Shadow of the Colossus twist.
So ya. Skyrim x Dark Souls + Monster Hunter Combat + Shadow of the Colossus mounting. With a pretty good story too. It’s not perfect. But neither was Skyrim (combat was atrocious) and look at how beloved that game is- many regard as their fave game of all time.
@ilikeike
Fact of truth is, decisions to bring games do depend on how games sell. It’s about the only thing that matters when it comes to deciding whether to bring a game. No people might not like that and I know that some will say “Switch has sold 35 million- it should automatically get these games”. But why? Because higher install base indicates higher likelihood of game sales. It doesn’t guarantee it though. And 24 months of a successful Switch doesn’t erase the last 24 years of Nintendo botching 3rd party support, with statistically lower sales on their platforms.
The fact is, that director wants to feel confident that his game will sell if he commits to bringing it. And who could blame him for that? If it’s not going to sell well, why would he want to bring it. It doesn’t make any sense. Nobody can fault him for wanting to be sure his game will do well first. Which begs the question- how do you gage such a thing for a franchise that’s never been sold to the fanbase? The next best thing- sales of a different Capcom mature franchise that’s never appeared on a Nintendo console. And if that mature Capcom title that’s never appeared on a Nintendo console does well, it’s more likely his mature Capcom title that’s never appeared on a Nintendo console will also do well. It’s not a perfect gauge but it’s the metric by which he feels comfortable with. And since he’s the one making the game, all that matters is what makes him feel comfortable enough to invest.
I know people don’t like to hear that, but that’s what it is. It’s also possible the leaked DMC HD Trilogy is indeed coming to Switch, and he’s actually going to use that as the metric, but couldn’t out the announcement prematurely, so he just said Dragons Dogma instead.
Makes sense you don't need online sub as you don't really play online per say instead you allow others to use a copy of your character and vice versa.
It's fun when you and friends all have the game and just share your characters to each other.
I'm throwing cash and credit cards at the screen, but nothing's working.
Will play it again, just for the portability.
However, why would anyone pre order something on the eshop if it doesn't have a discount?
You can just buy it day one if you want... No need to give up your money before you can even play the game.
@Manzoli So you can preload. If you already know what youre getting, then why wait extra time to download?
Will it get a physical copy in Europe? Can't seem to preorder it from any Swedish online retailer yet.
I wish they weren't holding Devil May Cry 5 hostage behind this game's sales.
Physical works well! Tis’ weak to SD card space!!
I just went ahead and traded my PS4 copy toward the Switch version. I own it digitally on PS3. I love this game, and I know I’ll play it more on my Nintendo.
Need to watch gameplay for this game, but I’ve been wanting another long rpg since playing Dark Souls last year
@Quarth Fellow Swede here. I was looking around for it this weekend too but I could only find confirmation for physical release in JP and NA sadly.
@Sammich Tack för svaret!
Yeah, it's a shame if it doesn't get a physical release here and it's not the first time it happens. It's as if Capcom hates us Europeans. But luckily the Switch is region free, so hopefully stores like Spelbutiken and Spel&Sånt will import it to Sweden.
So this is the game Capcom is using to "justify" a possible (no) release of devil may cry 5 for switch? Hmmm....
I am happy to give Capcom my money for new experiences I want to see, like I did with Rockman 11. I even went ahead and hunted down a physical version.
I am not interested in shilling out money for a game I am not interested in, nor am I interested in old ports after old ports, especially if they gate new titles.
However for everyone that is genuinely happy to see this title on Switch, I am happy for you as well.
Waiting for reviews I know nothing about it
@PhilKenSebben because the game can launch broken. It can run at 15fps... It can have breaking bugs etc... And sometimes it never gets fixed.
The switch does not have a single game that i remember that took me more than a day to download, so I don't see the point of preload really...
But, to which their own i guess.
Just brought it on eshop cant wait to play it.
@Dpishere it's the same price.....
@AlternateButtons
My favorite part of the game is the flexible party system. You basically work with humanoid spirits, one of which is your "main" ally, who will stay with you throughout the game, and who - like your player character- is fully customizable. The rest of your party you select by basically walking into another dimension and selecting someone with the skills, weapons, or aesthetic that you find the most useful. It's neat, very fluid, and since the party always "chats" at you, it feels alive. I grew very attached to my characters over time, and was genuinely concerned for them if they died. Your main ally can be brought back pretty quickly, but those other helpers? They gone.
@JaxonH stop treating us as children and being right about it, sir.
This looks the closest a video game has ever got to being a playable Ray Harryhausen movie. That's a buy for me on that alone.
Pre-ordered on Amazon a while back.
How old is this game? It looks very old.
Physical copy all the way. It's the same price as the digital too, and it's fully on the cartridge
Bad Capcom, $30 does not equal £25. The price of the ps4 launch version was $30/£20 , it should be the same on switch. At least its not as bed as the resi prices.
