The marketing for the upcoming multi-platform release Mortal Kombat 11 has been absolutely relentless. Since the eleventh entry was revealed to the world late last year, it's been making headlines ever since, with regular character reveals, trailer uploads and live streams.
In the latest story-focused clip – revealed during Sony's State of Play live stream – a number of iconic Mortal Kombat characters fight alongside their future and past selves. The trailer also confirms Jax, Liu Kang and Kung Lao. As always, the footage on display is violent, brutal and bloody, so be mindful of this if you do decide to watch it.
Has this trailer got you hyped for this game? Tell us down in the comments.

Keeping it nice and ridiculous I see!
Behold the Switch version
Getting nervous about my pre-order. Would love to see some Switch gameplay,
Had so stop the trailer for that awful unbearable music and the plasticy character models. I wasn't sure after I saw the noob saibot reveal, but now I am: gonna skip this one.
Looks A-awesome! I think that some of the clip showed Switch gameplay as background was misty. Which I don't mind. I don't play fighting games to stare at the background. Similarly I've absolutely LOVED Trials Rising. I think this is going to be brilliant on Switch. My pre-order is steady as a rock hard fist!
@Scollurio alrighty
As someone who loved Mortal Kombat Unchained (a port of Deception) on PSP and Mortal Kombat 9 on PSV, I have faith the port to Switch will be great.
25 years later and mortal combat character animations still look very odd and unsettling to me.
Preordered already
How much more explicit does the violence have to be to qualify for an AO rating?
Man, MK will always been at it's best when it's being goofy and doesn't take itself seriously. This story mode is gonna be very fun, and there's gonna be plenty of unlockable content to satisfy me. Stay golden MK.
@Silly_G it is unlikely that violence alone will qualify. Sex acts that are uncensored is usually the way to go if you want an AO rating in the west.
They rebooted the franchise to streamline the series, only for it to get just as convoluted in the span of one entry... It's gonna be a mess, and I'm all for it.
@mist While that is hilarious, I don't think the Switch version will be that bad haha.
I'm not too worried about the Switch version. Its kinda funny though since Vita owners didn't raise a stink(myself included) over the significant downgrade in Mortal Kombat 9.
@Scollurio Well good luck on those upcoming parties mate
Netherrealm keeps making Johnny Cage more cringeworthy in every game. Ugh.
