As fun as it is making Nintendo Labo cardboard creations, finding a place to store them can be a real hassle. If you haven't already found a space for these kits inside your home, Nintendo is releasing an official Labo-themed box for 800 yen in Japan.
If you're wondering what the catch is, there isn't one. It's a standard box you use to store your Toy-Con. The below video demonstrates how to fit all of the Vehicle Kit components inside of it. The box also has the ability to fold down. Amazing stuff.
Of course, if you're not interested in paying a premium price for this quality Nintendo product, you could always consider a third-party box, available from all good box factories.
Is this the cardboard creation you've been waiting for? Are you in desperate need of Nintendo Labo storage solutions? Tell us down in the comments.

"A couple of lady killers like yourselves wouldn't be caught dead without one of my patented... cardboard peripheral cardboard carrying boxes!"
"We'll take 10."
You gotta hand it to them. For all those saying how crazy it is that Nintendo's charging money for cardboard – and they be coming back atcha; all like, can we sell yuz some cardboard to go with yoz cardcard?! And we all be like, Ya!
but will it store the first 2 labo sets as well? Sold in packs of 3?
It's a pretty good price though. I thought they'd be like 70 bucks or so. Still haven't done any labo stuff myself. I'm a 3o yr old man with no kids so I'm pretty sure it's not for me
I keep checking the date to see if it's April 1st, come next Monday I'll forget and will be well and truly fooled.
And what's worse is that I'll probably be hoodwinked by something far less ridiculous than this.
I think it would sell more if they included cardboard inserts to protect the peripherals. Heck make them buildable like the rest of labo
LOL
I can use photo copy papers cardboard box instead. 😛
@Not_Soos I spit my drink out reading that! One of my fav. Spongebob episodes ever, nicely done!
i hear the people on gamexplain complain about storing them all the time so the video might've been necessary
I wouldn't be surprised if their next console was just made of cardboard at this point lmao. Seriously, Nintendo?
@Franklin What’s ridiculous about a cardboard box?
In cooperation with Marie Kondo.
insert cardboard box joke here
For anybody interested in Labo - which is probably nobody in here 'cept maybe Anti who's like 8,000 miles away - Target has most of the original 3 sets on unadvertised sale/clearance for around $20 each.
Cardboardception.

If you need to buy a labo themed cardboard box to store cardboard, when any large cardboard box will suffice, then you're doing this whole learning thing wrong. I think Nintendo knows that there is a good number of people stupid enough to buy an expensive cardboard box for storing cardboard creations. This many cardboards is intentional, because I'm trying to waste your time reading this.
Expensive cardboard to store your expensive cardboard
@iLikeUrAttitude It’s like $7. That’s actually not bad for a cardboard box. If you’ve never had to buy boxes to move or something, you’d be surprised at how expensive they are.
@Jake_homs Haha, thank you! It's one of my favorites, as well. I would probably put it in the top 5, somewhere underneath "Band Geeks" and "Krab-borg."
Edit: Oh yes, and I would also have to put "I'm With Stupid" somewhere up there!
If it can hold the entire variety kit, then tell me how wide and tall it is so i can get a cheaper box
what has the world come to? Nintendo is creating boxes to put more boxes inside a box.
Wow, a Company dares sell Us Boxes? My oh my! This world is coming to an end! Next someone will try and sell us... you guessed it, plastic containers of some sort! Maybe some made of glass? A guy can dream.
I really can`t understand people sometimes. Whats the problem with Nintendo selling boxes? ( Rhetorical question )
Your subheading puns are getting lamer and lamer...
This was the perfect opportunity to make this Boxboy themed. I’d honestly buy this if it had some kind of goodie like a free amiibo or gift card, by itself it’s just something that you could get from an online delivery website
@BAN About €0.50 per box.
I am going to tell you how to completely cheat Nintendo's system:
Order the LABO kit from Amazon, use the big box it comes in, store it in that.
Or any box, it doesn't even have to be cardboard.
EDIT: it's like £5. It could come bundled with the sets I suppose. But then again, £5
@ReaderRagfish Well, it literally is.
@Joeynator3000
"insert cardboard box joke here"
If it fit, I sit.
i mean it's helpful, it probably wouldnt have raised as many brows if they just included this with the toycon sets
four days before April fools?.
Reminds me of the now infamous PS4 "How to share a game on PS4" video.
Classic. I love nintendo. They have the balls to try stuff no one else would...
@Anti-Matter Yep, that was my first thought. Great for storing cats too.
Still a better box than xbox.
I’d like to do an unboxing video of this box.
It doesn’t come with any software?? Preorder cancelled.
@Joeynator3000 All the haters of Nintendo Labo can now be called:
Boxtrolls
Or just use an empty cardboard Amazon box for the low cost of free. LMAO
A box to store a box. Hope a 3rd party makes a bigger box to store this box.
Nintendo’s normal approach of thinking outside of the box clearly doesn’t apply here. I will get this to store our vehicle creations. My daughter loves Labo and we play quite a lot. I want my younger child to enjoy Labo too in a few years so this is great for us. Can’t wait for Labo VR - mainly to see my daughter’s face when we play. Priceless.
Another useless labo
I would have preferred a nice plastic tub with a Nintendo Logo or Switch logo. This seems like I am storing office files.
A cardboard box to store your cardboard toys in. Or you could just buy OTHER toys from Amazon and get the cardboard box absolutely free....
and so we come full circle.
@Heng-Yu Good one, lol.
I found an Ikea box that is perfect for the Variety Kit. But any box that's 17' x 13.5' x 12' will fit them. More info here:

@Octane For a bankers box with a lid? Sure, dude.
"Because not just any cardboard box will do..."
Is this a Labo kit as well? Wonder if you have to put it together. I'll see my way out...
I don’t own any Labo, but can’t you just disassemble them and lay the pieces back in the original box to store them if you’re not playing with them for a while?
Are people really this stupid.
Now we just need somewhere to put the box
Putting cardboard in cardboard...
