If you've been building a physical library of games on the Nintendo Switch over the past few years, Limited Run Games has an upcoming release it thinks fans will be "very excited" about.
This tease was made over on Twitter by the company's owner, John Fairhurst:
Unsurprisingly, it sent fan speculation wild - with some hoping it was Hollow Knight, after it was recently classified by the ESRB. Others decided to make much sillier predictions such as Excite Truck and Half-Life 3.

I mean, I’m probably wrong, but it seems pretty obvious to me that it’s Hollow Knight. It’s easily one of if not the biggest indie game without a physical version, and LRG probably came in to save the day after the plans fell through with that other publisher.
How do you know when it's available? Assuming it'll sell out in 30 seconds.
Whatever it is people will complain that it isn't something else and then state how they'll never buy that something else unless there is a physical release and then complain that that something else never got a sequel cos it didn't sell well...I'm just happy to see support after those dark Wii U years.

@mozzy1 your assumption is incorrect-LRG has had open preorders for all their Switch games. And you can easily find out when it’s available by checking their webpage, following them on twitter, etc.

Does this really matter when the Developers refuse to make it Physical. That's the biggest letdown by the Developers.

99Vidas was rated Teen for Violence (Moderate level) with same violence level as Classic Double Dragon games.
I have ever played games like that when i still have NES.
I have ever tried the Demo of 99Vidas on Switch and.... it was quite interesting with their unique Elemental attacks from the characters (Fire, Ice, Lightning, Rock, etc)
Beside, i still allowed some rated Teen games, but only a few Teen games can make a cut.
@mozzy1 only the collectors editions are limited, the actual physicals are open for two weeks with no limited amount.
If it is Hollow Knight, will be straight on that, like a fly on crap
I'll jump on a beefy indie like Hollow Knight. But anything else and I simply can't be bothered. Just not enough money to grab every obscure game right now.

Team Cherry said they were looking for other ways to ensure a physical release although they would be very limited.

What does it matter to UK/EU collectors anyway? Since like every Limited Run Games release it is going to be a US ESRB label release, and won't count toward a UK or EU set anyway.
@mozzy1 Switch games are open pre-order for the standard editions. It should go up on the 15th, since their Switch games go up for sale every two weeks.
@Mark-number-12 Switch is Region free. You cannplay them on any Switch.
Vague posts like that make me intensely skeptical and a bit turned off. Baiting your audiences/fans is just obnoxious and equally manipulative behavior.
Gris, maybe it's Gris... Any of the absurdly huge file size games would be great to have physically-- Hollow Knight, Gris, Ape Out, Night in the Woods, etc. I also want to say that I love the idea of it being 1080 Avalanche (awesome snowboarding game, just so fun!), Excite Truck, Outrun 2006!

What are you talking about? A stoned monkey could get a pre-order in with LRG. Pre-orders are open for a set time interval and there is no limit on the number of pre-orders they take. That’s how it’s been for years. On top of that they’re also selling some of the more popular Switch games at Best Buy. You would literally have to go out of your way to not obtain a game you want.
This is going to be a strange guess, but I'm guessing Final Fantasy VII. It's not getting a physical release by square, but fans have been asking for it.

On already released games Double Dragon or The Messenger would be fun...
On other games Final Fantasy VII,Duck Tales Remastered,Manny Mario,Donkey Kong,Zelda games would bee fun too or maybe the Seiken games who have been released on Japan may be fun.....
On already released games elsewhere Asterix, Okami Syberia,Capcom Final Fight and others compilation, I am Setsuna would be fun in North America but not needed because we can import those games they are region free and in English...
Horizon Chase Turbo will have a physical release in May and Shovel Knight soon too!!!

I am well aware that the Switch is region free. The point is, if you are a UK or Euro full set collector or even just a serious collector, these US ESRB rated games won't count toward a UK or EU set, since they had no official retail release here in the UK or EU.
On one hand, i’ll be stoked if it’s Hollow Knight because it sincerely deserves a physical version. However, just days ago I bought a ‘physical’ version with the Knight plush and the download code. I’m good with double dipping on multiple consoles but I’m not so sure about on the same console for the sake of owning a physical. That’s just my own take though, and if it is HK, I’ll be excited for everyone who’ll get one and experience it, especially if it’s their first experience with it.
Whatever it is, I hope it makes a lot of people happy. I don't buy Limited Run Games myself.

That's impossible. Every game is an open preorder for 2 weeks minimum. Check their policy and read up on it. Nothing sells out in seconds in an open preorder window.

@JaxonH well I went to buy night trap special limited edition and on the first stock allocation they sold out in 30 seconds, so I read up on it and they said ensure your logged in and your PayPal is logged in. When it came to the second allocation I got one added to basket and then just as I checked out and clicked pay. It said you have nothing in your basket. I went back and checked and the product second allocation had sold out. (Even with it in my basket).

Special editions are different. Those can be limited. But the normal retail release is not. So if you're trying to get a game, you're guaranteed to get it if you want. No promises on any special editions but, the game itself is a lock

@Aneira They’re probably banking on people wanting a physical copy of this to coincide with the upcoming Ritual of the Night physical release. Personally, this is an easy pass for me. Interestingly, I’ve noticed multiple publishers (LRG and 505) posting this game for preorder.
