You know the drill, it's that time of the week when a new Spirit Board event is announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This latest event is titled "Green Is The New Black" and unsurprisingly focuses on green-coloured spirits.
As you'll see above and below, we're talking about spirits such as Yarn Yoshi, Link from The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Blanka from the Street Fighter series and legendary Pokémon like Celebi and Rayquaza.
The three-day event starts this Friday and will be live for the remainder of the weekend. While this event is running, you'll also earn more gold than usual when you defeat these spirits.
Are you still collecting spirits in Ultimate? Let us know in the comments.

Aww darn it. I jump on the article when I saw Celebi and then it was just a spirit board thing...
I was hoping for some Poke-news.
So Yoshi is going to prison?
What’s his crime? Committing tax fraud?
@Galarian_Lassie And cheating college entrance exams along with Link and Tingle. Verbal skills aren't exactly Link's forte.
It'd be nice if they released a few new ones every month or so to make these events more enticing, surely most of us who care about Spirits have them all by now.
Didn't think they'd run out of ideas this soon.
Pleeeease add more Spirits, Ninty. I love collecting them.

That image makes me think of Hollow Knight. You have Celeb who kind of looks like the main character, those 2 white demon eyes, the teeth are like that cave monster and the green hue and Wispy Woods for Greenpass. Even the art style is similar.
Green is best color.
Green is indeed the best colour.
St. Patrick's Day
My fave colour! 😍😍😍 ... Metroids and all haha
Not played smash in ages after I got all spirits and done every mode with every fighter... I'm not looking forward to Joker so I don't know if I'll bother
It's not easy being green.
Clever name right there. Then again, that does give more cannon evidence that Yoshi likely went to jail or is wanted for tax fraud.
@ToadKid
Waluigi already has an amiibo, and I own it. Although if they added him to smash, I would b singing a different tune.
Absolutely no mention of St. Patrick's Day? That's odd. 🤔
@KingBowser86 What do you mean? THIEF was always a criminal back in Link's Awakening! (get it?)
@The_Mysteron Alcohol reference, likely. So this is as close as they can get, perhaps.
@Reigestugatensho Psh, that's Double Jeopardy - you can't try two Links for the same crime. Unless it's Four Swords. Then it's all 4.
@KingBowser86 Oof you got me there! LOL
@KingBowser86 "Alcohol reference, likely. So this is as close as they can get, perhaps."
Gosh. You're really not stereotyping us Irish at all there...😥
@The_Mysteron Why am I even replying to this? It's just trolling, at this point. But let's say you're serious.
Think about it. The U.S. bars put on green beers, for Pete's sake. Can't imagine how Japan chooses to celebrate it or knows it (but I'll bet you it has little to do with religion or saints). Ergo, the next closest topic is...
Anyone trying to get all offended:
Good News: I'm an Equal Opportunity Offender and will mock anything without any malice (as long as it's funny)!
Bad News: Being "Offended" or "Victimized" on the internet isn't a currency, has no basis considering the anonymity, and is a complete assumption.
@KingBowser86 LOL. I'm not trolling you, or feeling victimized. I'm just pointing out that you are stereotyping our nation as a bunch of drunks. There are a lot of Irish people who don't drink, just like there are a lot of Americans who don't like guns. St. Patrick's Day is not about alcohol for a large amount of people. The holiday has unfortunately become an excuse for many to drink themselves into oblivion, and that's sad to me as an Irish man who chooses not to drink. If you're thinking I'm triggered or a pansy for finding your comment ignorant, that's fine. You have a right to say things that offend other people, and I have a right to call you out on it.
@The_Mysteron Again, nowhere in my post did I say "Buncha drunks" or anything of the sort. Reread my posts. I guessed that it might be due to a possible alcohol reference but it's just as likely that St. Patrick's Day isn't well known in Japan. You're "calling me out" on something that isn't there. And if you didn't find it offensive then you wouldn't feel the need to "call anyone out."
