Fire Emblem: Three Houses Is Getting A Gorgeous Limited Edition In Japan

So... English language support in Japan? At least subtitles etc? That JP steelcase art is pretty darn gorgeous.

That is one gorgeous looking box, but dont really like Fire Emblem so good luck to all the collectors out there.

@apoqalypse Switch games doesn't have region-lock. If you buy the game in JP, and the game itself has English option (for example, Pokemon), then the game will be in English if your Switch's setting is in English
In short, you can just buy almost famous games of Nintendo in JP, and you can still play it in English

Well at least it's nice to know that they won't be selling this as two or more seperate versions of the game like they did with Fates.

I still think the Europe one looks really cool. We tend to be pretty lucky with Special Editions actually. The US seems to get watered down versions fairly regularly.

I've never really been sure why these differ by region so often. Is it based on sales forecasts or is each region given full autonomy to design their own?

Why include a plastic case when they include a steelbook case? What's the point?

That's a pretty ugly case, everything else is lovely though.

The normal boxart is unfortunately quite dodgy - why the hell is Claude upside down!? - but their steelbook is gorgeous

Also that music is absolutely stunning and has given me confidence that even if the game abysmal (which I highly doubt it will be) the soundtrack will be worthy of its Fire Emblem name

This is the first time I noticed this is codeveloped by koei... is this reason to be worried?

@RickD Honestly....Mario has never had collector's editions. And they don't need to do anything special to sell the games. I would love if Odyssey had of gotten this royal treatment.

@RickD What bundle are you talking about? This is a collectors edition, meant for shifting software and collector stuff for collectors, not hardware.

Now my issue probably will be with the customs and fees for EU. Probably will have to buy ours here. I mean it's fine but I'd prefer that gorgeous beauty!

Snazzy! I might eventually pick this up, but I doubt it. I need to get a non-mobile taste of FE soon. If there's a demo, I'll check it out.

The metal box art is so much better than the game box art. The design of the game box art looks like a low cost random JRPG.

Can I say how much I love that there is ONE dubstep phrase in the middle of the Three Houses theme and it is never repeated or developed at all? It is so bizarre.

Out of the three special editions, I still prefer the set EU Nintendo is releasing. But a combo of the three's best features would be awesome....maybe Australia will get that version!

I've never played Fire Emblem, but I loved the trailer and I'm intrigued with the setting and story. I think this might end up being my first (also: Leicester Alliance all the way)

I want the soundtrack on Apple Music and the likes.

@RickD Honestly, I'd kind of agree that Fire Emblem isn't a huge mover of units, at least on its own. But I'm sure there are enough Fire Emblem fans, and general collectors of consoles/Nintendo merchandise that these will probably be impossible to find a month or two down the road.

Fire Emblem isn't as big as Pokemon, Mario, or even Animal crossing. But it's still pretty big. Arguably bigger than Xenoblade, and we got a LE pro controller for that.

UGH, of course Japan is. I really hope this set comes out in North America too...but if it doesn't, I may just pay the crazy import fees and try to get one.

@yamato2706 that isn’t correct. The version you buy still has to have English language support built in or patched in (taiko no tatsujin for instance) or be a multi region version of the game upon which (okami for instance) the game will default to your system language. There are games that are released as seperate region versions (dragon quest builders for instance). Also keep in mind that DLC must match the version as well.

Region free just means you can buy and play a game from anywhere and it will work. Not that it will be in your system language. It doesn’t convert anything...you just aren’t restricted by hardware.

Europe still getting the best version overall. The pins are way cooler than anything else. A usb stick with the songs is a bit strange, but honestly if you want the songs, you'll rip them from the CD to play on a phone or computer anyhow, just odd considering thats so much more costly than a CD. But still, the nicest looking edition of them all really. Though the shape of the europe boxes is less attractive than the Japanese ones.

The steelbook for the Japan one isn't really all that nice compared the the one Europe and North America are getting. This one actually seems to be the weakest of them all.

The basic box art looks a bit busy. Would have been better as just the top three characters and the logo, or the bottom two protagonists with the background and logo above

I thought "what is so gorgeous about that?", then I saw the steelbook. I'd go for a deluxe version more often if they all looked like this.
