As any Switch owner who prefers to buy their games digitally will know, the console's limited storage space can be a near constant issue. That is unless you have a beast of a microSD card to save your precious games on, of course, and this limited-time deal is right up there as one of the best value-for-money offers we've ever seen.
Right now on Amazon UK, and only available until midnight tonight, this new deal offers a lovely 400GB microSD card for just £55.99. For the sake of comparison, the same card in its 200GB variant is currently £43.79, so it's a pretty huge saving.

Have you been waiting for a deal like this? You could fit nearly 30 copies of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on one of these!

Is it reliable though I’ve had two SanDisk fail
Why don't you guys just open a Patreon account if you are so hard up for cash?
And I felt lucky to grab a 200 Gb for forty bucks.
Oh wait, this is the UK, and I grabbed a 200 Gb for forty bucks in Belarus. Yup, still damn lucky. XD
I wish the Switch would allow for external hard drives to be plugged into the dock. I know it that doesn't solve the portability aspect, but my Switch stays under the TV 99.9% of the time anyway.
@sandman89 Been using Sandisks in cameras for years and they never failed. Then again, those were the Extreme Range.
This is such a good deal. Thanks
Just bought a 128 for £28... Can't really afford this now ahaha
I think this is the 3rd article that NintendoLife has done, reminding me how right after I bought my 400gb card for about 100 bucks, it dropped first to 80 like barely a day later. Now only 2 weeks (ish) after that, it's down even lower...
Ah well. No regrets, I wanted the card. It's just one of those things - like, of course it did.
@sikthvash Same here, i play mostly docked so having the dock to support external HDD would be nice for me.
1TB or 2TB USB HDD are pretty cheap where i live.
Just bought mine! Insane value! Been waiting for a price drop for a while and £56 is hellagood.
Thanks for the tip, guys!
Is there a good guide for moving content from one SD card to a new one for Switch? Is it just copy and paste the files onto the new one?
Thanks
@sikthvash Hackers have got that feature working just fine - why Nintendo can't is beyond me.
Arg, darn you pickup repairs!!! Foiled again. I'm still rocking a 32G I got in the fall for $9
@S4ndm4n Yes exactly that.
@frodouk great. Thanks.
This has blown my mind!! These prices have come down so quickly. Might buy 2!!
I'm not getting this. By the end of the year all being well I expect a 1TB card will be avail for £60. Until then my 128GB £17 card from Base will suffice especially as it supplements a 64GB £10 card from Amazon.
Sweet! Just picked one up.
Already own 2 x 64 GB and just purchased a 128GB from amazon for £16.99 last week that's still in its packaging so I'll return this one and mentally take the cost off the £56.
Bargain, well worth it to put an end to switching out cards and remembering which games are on what.
@S4ndm4n like others said, just copy paste. i try to do it every other month and back up to google cloud just in case. same with my 3DS. ONCE i had a card corrupt or something and i just installed it from the last google cloud version.
These memory cards just keep dropping in price as larger ones come out... I’ll just hold off until a better sale hits later. I picked up a 128 card back in November for $21 which was the same price as the 64 I bought before that😅
I checked on Camelcamelcamel, this does seem to be the cheapest these particular 400GB microSDXC cards have been.
They were at an anomalous £120 a couple weeks ago, but the standard price seemed to be around £90.
A beefy 400GB memory card for little more than a bullseye is an incredible deal. And to think, that same £56 would barely get you a 32GB proprietary memory card on Vita. Man, Sony’s greed only ended up robbing themselves!
$74? Damn these British booby traps!
I just bought a Vita memory card a few month ago so this seems like a great price
But do I need to buy this though? My 200GB one is full but the archive process makes things pretty simple...
The $62 is no longer the price on Amazon, just a heads up.
I'd just end up filling it with screenshots and video captures and then having to find room on a hard drive for them cos I couldn't bear to delete them.
I'm beefing up my Switch with two 1TB microSD cards
Got a 200GB card when I first bought my Swith (Oct 2017). Just got the message when trying to download Smite that my storage was full. All digital with about 35-40 games on it. Can’t believe how cheap 200GB cards are now! $36 on Amazon. Think I paid around $70. Ready to upgrade to the 400GB card although I’m interested to see how quickly this 1TB card drives down 512GB prices.
@S4ndm4n It’s pretty simple but here Nintendo’s official walkthrough

I just ordered a 400gb from amazon.de earlier this week for 69 euros shipping included ( I'm from Finland). The 56£ is about the same converted. These are some good prices, and even though my 128gig card has nearly 100gb space left I got the bigger anyway. I don't think I'll need to upgrade anymore with the pace I buy digital games. But I mostly buy smaller indie games that don't take up that much space though.
Held out for a price drop and just bought a Sandisk Extreme 128gb for £23, Amazon. Absolutely chuffed to bits! That’s cheaper than the licensed Nintendo card haha.
Got this about a month ago, love it. Highly recommended.
Used to have the same make in 128GB and that has been going without any issues for about a year, and still works fine, though I haven't much need for it on my Switch anymore.
Also so far 72 games on my 400 GB card including Skyrim, Starlink and Warframe. Amazed at how little footprint Switch games have.
@S4ndm4n It's supposed to be as simple as formatting the card on your PC, copying the Nintendo folder from your old card to your desktop then opening the new card in file explorer and drag and drop from your desktop to the new card. Remember to eject the cards in file explorer to avoid data corruption. There's a guide here

Couldn't resist grabbing one at that price, just filled my 128gb the other day and had to install Valkyria Chronicles to the internal storage.
I'm waiting for the 1tb cards to drive the 512gb prices down a bit further. Then I'll probably pick a few up just so I never have to swap cards on some of my systems. Lol
I can't thank you enough, I boguth yesterday mine , great value. and just in time for this crazy 2019 taht is going to be full of great games for the N.switch.
It always has to be in the US, ALWAYS. No thanks, not paying in customs taxes what I pay for just the card alone.
