Once again, we've successfully made it all the way through the week to the glorious weekend. As is tradition, Team Nintendo Life has gathered together to talk about our weekend plans, this time featuring friendly tournaments, dungeon-crawling, TATE mode goodness, and planty fighting machines. Feel free to give our entries a read and join in yourself via the poll and comment sections below. Enjoy!

Assuming I can stop playing the excellent Downwell, I hope to keep the TATE torch burning this fine weekend with some Ikaruga in my Flip Grip. I’ve got some reviews bubbling away, too, and I nabbed West of Loathing in the eShop sale, so it’d be nice to touch that.
A little fresh air would be good, so I might fire up Pokémon GO while I’m out and about. I’m still missing the regional exclusives from the first 151 and I’m only vaguely familiar with the post-Gen 1 roster, so nearly every silhouette I spy is a surprise – sure seems like those Game Freak devs had good days and bad when they were drawing up some of these ‘mon! Have a good one, folks.

Recently, a good week or so had gone by where I'd managed to completely avoid playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. For some reason, I decided to go on it for a quick Spirit board fight or two, and now I'm completely hooked again. I think it's pretty safe to say I'll be on it for the majority of my free time this weekend.
I am very much in favour of Piranha Plant's addition to the roster and have been loving coming up against it in online matches, but I haven't actually tried it out for myself yet - partly out of fear. I might have to give in and try it out, though - it looks incredibly fun.

This weekend I'm going to - shock horror - actually take a couple of days off. I know, mad right? I'll likely be spending most of that time shaking my fist at the heavy snowfall outside while playing the second Anthem demo. When I do fire up my Switch I'll be giving the Diablo-like dungeon crawling of DreamWorks Dragons Dawn of New Riders a spin. Will it be a fun game in its own right or another cheap tie-in? Find out in my review next week.
Liam Doolan, news reporter
The main game I’ll be spending some quality time with this weekend is Wargroove. I’ll admit, I probably didn’t give the Advance Wars series the attention it deserved when it was still in its prime. Fortunately, this spiritual successor developed and published by Chucklefish should be more than enough to satisfy my current cravings for tactical turn-based combat.
When I’m not spending time commanding troops on the battlefield in this, I’ll probably be getting up close and personal with the enemy in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. I’ve gotta say - I’m absolutely loving Piranha Plant. Sakurai and his team have done a tremendous job with this particular fighter. It's both easy and fun to use. I can only hope Joker and future DLC characters are just as great!

This last weekend of mine in London, I’ll be at a gaming meetup with some friends at Loading Bar: Server in Shepherd’s Bush (I’m American, so that name sounds like pure gibberish to me - but it has “bar” in it, so that’s a good sign). We’ll be competing in some Mario Kart, Splatoon 2 and Smash Ultimate tournaments, along with some topical trivia to tickle the thoughts! Looking forward to actually playing video games with other human beings, and not just alone in a room like a hermit. Anyone in the area can feel free to join!

Import madness weekend! Will sample Katamari Damacy Reroll, Onimusha Warlords, Kamen Rider: Climax Scramble Zi-O, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle and (last but most certainly not least) Kunio-kun: The World Classics Collection!
More traditional affairs include Misango represention in ARMS and some Super Smash Bros. Ultimate spirit board event action. I’m hooked back on Debris Infinity (latest update added ‘Zen Mode’ that lives up to its namesake) and it’s impossible to not have another go at Downwell. Dragon Ball FighterZ is very much back in rotation thanks to the new Season 2 fighters and I will wrap up Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes before the inevitability of Monday.
My game of the week goes to Wargroove. So much content in such a reasonably priced package. Go grab it! [We've got no idea how he has the time to do all of this, either. --Ed.]

Wargroove! All day.
Ok, maybe Tales of Vesperia a little too
This week I will be mostly playing
Kirby Planet Robobot
Game & Wario
I'm still going through Diablo's story mode so I plan to finish that and then start Okami.
Wargroove and Tales of Vesperia!
Really enjoying the slow pace of Thea the awakening, it reminds me so much of the early turns in Civ (which are the best bits I reckon). And when I need to speed things up I do a couple of runs on Diablo with my new crusader.
Kingdom Hearts 3
If the Bad North demo drops as announced on Thursday (along with a discount for the full game) I'll be keeping vikings at bay as I keep warm in these suitably chilly conditions.
Otherwise, more Civ VI, set to 'Cold' perhaps.
Wargroove for me, along with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (which I'm chipping away at slowly).
Possibly Farm Together
Diablo and NSMBUD as much as I can.
Wargroove and RE2: Remake
Piczle Colors 😍
This week I play Moon Cresta
I’ve pretty much been playing Wargroove. Great game that lacks depth of story, but has huge depth either it’s strategy mechanics. I don’t mind the story as a whole because then campaign creator offers tonnes of player-made ones. Hope this Mario Maker like creator thrives.
Some Downwell, Smash and hopefully finally finish the Leon campaign on Resident Evil 2
Just starting Banner Saga 2. Really enjoying the mix of battles and narrative choices and very refreshing to play a game with no black or white choices, just hard decisions that make you more atrached to the characters and story.
Still trudging through Xeodrifter after picking it up at the bargain price of 62p! Hard as nails but it's use of HD rumble is the best example on the system.
Downwell is probably the most addictive game I've played so I'm sure there'll be time for just 'one more go'.
And Ni No Kuni II if I can dedicate a couple of hours tonight. Man I wish that game was on Switch.
Oh and Smash Bros but that goes without saying.
@IHateTombs it looks amazing, but I can't be doing with watching hours of confusing and conflicting storylines from half a dozen games or so.
I had to send my switch back to have it reapaired. In the mean time I'm going to play some old gems for 3ds/nds/gba. I'm currently playing Hotel Dusk room 215 on my o3dsxl. So far it's great.
Tales of Vesperia, amazing game highly recommended.
@AndreaF96 Sorry about you having to get it repaired. I recently sent in a joy con to get fix and that went well. I hope your switch comes back soon and in great working order!
Downwell, Horizon Chase Turbo and perhaps I'll start Hyper Light Drifter. Tomorrow evening I've got to go on a 12 hour journey on a minibus before a long drawn out border crossing in the baking morning heat and a few hours standing in queues at an embassy. After spending Monday night in a hotel, I then have to get up and do it all over again but in reverse. It's not a pleasant experience, I've done the same trip many times and I hate it but the Switch makes the trip a little easier.
Wargroove all weekend.
I went a little mad this week and bought both Smash Bros. and Katamari Damacy Reroll, so I'll be playing those in between trying to establish French cultural dominion over the globe in Civ VI.
Minish Cap through the Wii U, Statik on PSVR and Yakuza Kiwami on PS4.
@dugan yeah it sucks. Actually I had a problem woth the right joycon side buttons and led but Mediaworld (a big tech store franchise in Italy) asked me to send the whole switch. Otherwise I would have just bought a second pair of joycons, something I've been thinking about doing since I bought my switch, to keep playing while they repaired the broken one. Well I guess they lost 80€ from me. Still I'm grateful in a way because now I have time to play some 3ds gems I always had the intention to but never actually played.
@Peach64 I remember when a friend of mine lent me minish cap for gba(sp). It was so good even though I didn't actually finish it. Last year I encouraged my girlfriend to play it and now she is just a mistress of that game. I mean she 100%ed it 3 or four times. She even completed all the kinstones ahah.
@RasandeRose that's what I would've liked to do too.
Wargroove (Switch), Anthem Demo and Monster Hunter World (both XB1X)
Got Disgea 5 on sale yesterday and i am still in doubt if i should take Tales of Vesperia or wait for Persona 5 / or DQXI on Switch.
I’m gonna try to get in some Smash and South Park today... at some point. I’ve got a breakfast to go to in a bit, then I’ve got to help move things at the office for awhile.
Kingdom Hearts III (PS4)
I picked up Snake Pass and Infernium on sale. I played Snake Pass a little already. I like it, but the controls are tough to get used to. I feel like I'm learning to play video games all over again, haha. I haven't tried Infernium yet. It got pretty middling reviews, but it was only 5 bucks, so why not? The same guy who made Infernium also made another eShop game called Mind: Path to Thalamus, which I might buy if it ever returns to the eShop (it was removed for some unknown reason).
Besides that, I'll keep plugging away at Stardew Valley.
I bought world of goo and west of loathing from the sale! I've already played world of goo for an hour or so; very interesting game and much harder than I expected. Haven't played west of loathing yet, but I've heard very good stories about the game.
I also have enough gold coins to get BIT.TRIP Saga for free, so I'll download that game when I'm done playing the other two games. I've wanted to play the BIT.TRIP games for a long time, but I've read stories about how the music isn't synchronised well with the gameplay, so I'm curious how that will work out.
Wargroove, Downwell and Smash this weekend.
NSMBU deluxe- I’m hooked on the 3 star collectathon. Although im only 20 hrs in compared to my 80 to play odyssey to completion, personally I prefer NSMBU for its power ups. Totally would love 3D world in the future
Sorry, I wish I could play the hell out of Piranha Plant, but that pesky game-breaker turned me a bit off. So I'm playing as the world's favourite keyblade-slinger on Xbox One.
Started Castle of Heart and Gunman Clive through the week so will continue to batter through them.
@Sir_funkington funny, 80 hours is also the time it took me to complete 100% of odyssey.
Just finishing that lil bit of smash left, and a load of other games, as I've been off work for the last 3 days due to being snowed in and now it weekend I've got lots of games to try and finish lol
Dragon: marked for death and Langrisser on mobile
Some Downwell and maybe Smash. I also need to continue with Ace Combat 5 on my PS4.
Goat Simulator. 'nuff said.
Playing some Fall of Light: Darkest Edition atm. Will probably play some Smash Ultimate later like every day. Most likely Mario Tennis Aces for Boom Boom. Maybe some Dark Souls Remastered. And either some Dragonball FighterZ or Pokkén Tournament DX to top it off.
Will be watching some Genesis 6 too.
Also still need to study for my exams next week....
@AndreaF96 it is such an amazing game, I’d love them to announce DLC for odyssey 🤞🏻
ELITE Dangerous on PC, which I can finally play because I got a new (even though it's a stop gap; a GT 1030) video card. I'm a sucker for the genre and I got it on sale from Humble Bundle.
@Shiryu I want that Kunio-kun collection, too! If only for all the western NES release Kunio and Double Dragon games. For the Yen, it includes a ton of games. But that asking price, ouch! Maybe when my tax refund hits.
Not sure if it was a good decision on my part but I bought Fitness Boxing for the Switch after enjoying the trial and needing something to keep me fit.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 is still my main ongoing Switch game, currently at Chapter 9 after 35 hours and absolutely loving it!
I'll also have another go at the Anthem demo on the Ps4 but can't see myself buying it..
Resident Evil 2 remake and Far Cry 5 will be the other two games I'll be playing over the weekend.Loving both of them
I'm excited to play Wargroove, I only played a little bit so far, but what I have played I have loved!
I'm also going to dig into Airheart, what I've played so far I've liked!
Being late to the Smash party I'm working through spirit mode and have plenty to be getting on with. Other than that it'll be some Mega Man 11 which has just arrived and I'm tempted to get Ikaruga
@Wazeddie22 be interested to know if the boxing actual does make you feel / look fitter .
For me - WarGroove - loving it so far - 5 levels in.
And oddly Tetris Worlds for GBA micro - I like taking the little device out and about .
@masterLEON I wonder if I will ever find the time to write reviews for all these Japanese Imports... I will most surely try.
Smash and Tekken 7
Warframe and tales of vesperia for me
Wargroove is at 0%
How the heck is that possible?
I've been already been building my campaign for the last six hours or so
I've recently beaten the main game of Dragon Quest VIII.
I'll probably move on to the post-game later today as I've been itching for something a bit more challenging than the difficulty the game settled on in the second half.
Minesweeper (Windows Phone) - Nearing the end
Angry Birds Seasons (Windows Phone) - Arrived at the last theme pack.
Pinball FX2 (Windows Store) - Working on a few tables but mostly the V12 table.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate. I recently bought Onimusha so I’ll give that a go this weekend as well. Plus a few games on PS4.
I’m on the train back from a night in London with Advance Wars 2 for company.
Hoping to download Wargroove when I get back and play on a trip to Leeds tonight. Downwell is really addictive too.
@Sir_funkington yeah one or two kingdoms like sea or forest would be enough for me and my little (now not so little since she is almost 18) sister.
@bolt05
Wargroove, Tales of Vesperia
My lineup exactly... well, maybe a bit of New Super Mario Bros as well.
I'm going to continue with West of Loathing but I've hit a point that I'm bored with the game after 6 or so hours. It's a silly game but the combat is somewhat boring to me and all the areas are starting to just blur together. It doesn't help the entire game is black and white so there's not much distinction.
I need to get back to God of War too and get through that too.
Like a clown I didn't take my Switch with me to the Caribbean. So nothing this weekend!
It’s a double experience weekend in Rocket League, so I’m hoping to gain a bunch of tiers in my Rocket Pass.
Starfox zero and smash
Smash Ultimate and DK Tropical Freeze
Friend's birthday this weekend, since he moved out of state, we're going to celebrate by playing Smash Bros. Ultimate online together. I'm anticipating I'm going to be busy, but if I can maybe squeeze in Tokyo Mirage Sessions and a few casual rounds of Sonic Battle.
I will be playing Zelda Twilight Princess and LotR: The Third Age. I wanted to play Breath of the Wild but my joycons have not been returned yet, after sending them to repair due to problems with both control sticks.
KH3. Once I beat that, it's back to Vesperia, and maybe some Smash so I can try Piranha Plant.
Currently, NecroDancer has me hooked. Trying to figure out how to not constantly die as Aria.
Can they just give Kamen Rider: Climax Scramble Zi-O have its own game page like Super Robot Wars T?
I’ve kinda over extended myself lately...
Shin Megami Tenesi Devil Summoner Overclocked, Etrian Odyssey on the 3DS
War Groove, Tales of Vesperia, Valkriya Chronicles, on Switch
Golden Sun 2 on the GBA
I`ll play
Wargroove,
Splatoon 2 (Gettin better for the Splatfest [Go Pancakes!])
And Some more Persona 5. ( I must be nearing the end lol )
Wargroove and XB1 stuff. No Nintendo Direct sure has been increasing my XB1 usage recently.
Where my Tangledeep peeps at?!
I started last night after work and I'm still terribly confused about a lot of it but I've already added two names to the Tree and looking forward to adding a couple more today.
Kingdom hearts 3
Anthem Demo
Switch and Legrand Legacy are taking a break.
Mostly Illusion of Gaia; my goal is to clear that by the end of my short vacation. I'll likely also be getting into old-school Final Fantasy XI as my friend has been telling me about a cool free server that he's on.
Wargroove is at 0%........something must be wrong with my webpage. Starting a cruise today. Hoping I can do nothing and by nothing I mean play the Switch and nap while family goes crazy spending money
I'll be spending some time with the dead in Ikana in Majora's Mask 3D and hopefully finish a certain long side quest while I'm at it. On the Wii U VC front, I'll be sharpening my strategy skills in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones.
Smash + Sonic Generations. Probably Another World (just to beat it, finally) and Nihilumbra, too.
Just finished wind waker hd last. So now I'm starting thru dkc3 and maybe spirit tracks. Of course I'll play some rounds in smash. Lastly much to my surprise I ordered a new copy of star fox zero for $13 on Amazon u.s. and it wasn't supposed to arrive til Monday. It just arrived so maybe ill dabble into that too
Now that I've beaten Resident Evil 1 and 2 on the Gamecube, it's time for 3!
Just beat my record on sonic 1 ring challenge now tennis time
Thinking of getting Crossing Souls since it’s on sale.
I always play Pokemon Go when I'm out, even it's just via Adventure Sync at work. Maybe some Mario Kart 7 on break and Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee when I get the chance.
If I had time I'd start playing Kingdom Hearts, but I've got work and I'm leaving for Disney World on Monday. If you're going to put off playing a Kingdom Hearts game obligations and Disney World are the best reasons.
I was planning to finally defeat the Inner Agent 3 this weekend, but I was able to defeat him yesterday. WOOT WOOT! I plan to just either play NSMBUD (NSLU) or Splatoon 2 this weekend.
Currently, I'm just waiting for my copy of Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate to arrive. It's my first MH game, so I'm hyped to get started.
I am maybe 70% through Snowboarding The Next Phase, maybe I’ll give Starlink another try (boy did it lose me quick) and probably some Save Me Mr. Tako!
Resident evil 2 for ps4
I downloaded the Mother 3 fan translation and am enjoying so far (despite buying EarthBound twice and not finishing it either time 😂). I feel a little dirty, but the deed’s been done, so I may as well play it. 🤷♂️
I also bought Downwell and played it once! Enjoyed it! 😂
And who knows what else I’ll play. Maybe Smash. Inevitably Smash. 😂
Everyone have a safe, God-blessed weekend! 😃
Just got Smash and Tales of Vesperia, so those. Also, Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War.
@graysoncharles
I've started playing Tales of Vesperia (on PS4).
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts 3 !!
3DS - Yokai Watch 3
PS Vita - Persona 4 Golden
Maybe some Atelier L&S on Switch or purchase Wargroove if I have time.
Wargroove and Banner Saga for me. Two very different takes on a similar genre, and both fantastic so far!
Tales of Vesperia for me, almost through act 2. Horizon chase turbo in between, try and get to the next area.
Although my copy of Disgaea 1 arrived yesterday. Ready for when I finish Tales of Vesperia next week
@IHateTombs you are right on both accounts. But was hoping for some information on them in a Nintendo Direct to see if they will come summer or end of year. I guess i should not fuzz and just get the game so i can at least check it out to see if i like it.
I'm not sure. 😕
The above is my contribution to this thread, an honest, to the point reply. But that is not good enough for NL. They would not let me post my message, they said....
Can't you think of something more to say?
So I have 😁
Wargroove and Smash Ultimate. Will also start Wolfenstein II.
@Tourer145 I was going to get Disgaea 1 but heads won and I got Disgaea 5, a few weeks ago. But have not started it yet.
Re2 Remake and Smash Ultimate.
Switch: Super Smash Bros Ultimate
Mobile: Pokemon Go
PS4: Whatever came with the new PS4 Humble Bundle, particularly "The Bard's Tale".
Salt and Sanctuary + Diablo III + Pokemon Platinum
@Cosats Moon Cresta has the most annoying formation patterns lol. Stupid game. (I'm playing it too hahaha)
Red Dead Redemption 2and Animal Crossing New Leaf
I have been going through an epic adventure in Kirby Star Allies for the first time myself. Well worth the purchase on Black Friday. And it happens to be only the second Kirby game I have played, behind 3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure.
How is Xenoblade 2 not in here? This game is amazing?
I have been considering Tales of Vesperia is it as good as it sounds?
Wargroove
Smash
Monster Boy
@KIRO Yeah me too.I kind of miss Wii Fit but that was played mostly for fun. This seems to be more serious.I just hope hope I can stick to the routine of doing a session every day....without eating anything afterwards lol.
Well I just finished Wandersong this week so I’m back in the same position this weekend of what to play. Hmm... Owlboy, Mario Rabbids, or Diablo...
I has fallen asleep. Pretty tired today. 😴
Oopsie... 😅
Btw, i play :
1. ARMS (Switch)
Party Crash Event again !
I choose Ribbon Girl during the event.
2. Gardening Mama (NDS)
Keep continue unlocking new crops or flowers.
3. Kurikin : Nano Island Story (NDS)
Keep leveling up my two Sword Star Kins.
4. Portal Knights (Switch)
Wandering around the worlds.
I feel sleepy. It's Almost 3 am at my place.
I wanna sleep again..... Zzzz 😴
@Anti-Matter Why do you feel the need to post the box art of every game you are playing?, every week... it's getting boring.
Smash, New Mario U DX and Paladins on Switch; REmake 2 on PS4; Ys Seven on Steam. I really want more Falcom games on Switch but I got tired of waiting.
I’m playing Shining Resonance Refrain. Slowly working my way through the ol’ backlog.
Playing the very serious Civ 6 and the very silly Pool Panic. Enjoying both!
I've been waiting for Snake Pass to go on sale for ages, so finally playing that. Happy because I saw it go on sale on Steam before but I really wanted to have it on Switch instead of PC, and the current discount is great.
I’ve been playing Mario 3D World for the first time on my new (to me) Wii U! Also got Metroid Prime Trilogy and Xenoblade 1 and X all queued up for my first play throughs!
On Switch I’m still working through NSMBUD.
I finished Pikuniku and am now playing Gabbuchi, which is really fun so far. It's kind of like Boxboy in reverse.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and, yes, more DOOM on Ultra Violence. Take care everyone. #Justice4MJ
Secret Files: Tunguska
I put some GameBoy Advance games on my SNES mini so I’ve been playing Pokémon Fire Red. I’ve got Pokémon Yellow and Green on 3DS, unfinished. Restarted Soul Silver and am about halfway through Ultra Sun. This is why I hardy ever complete anything 😂
Anyone notice that war groove was on there twice? Haha! I’ll play something like Gungeon or LA Noire. Still working on Okami as well.
Why isn't Zelda in the voting option list?
Sure it's an old game but there are still loads of people playing it (it's regularly popping up in the sales charts).
So far have only had time for Sonic Colours DS. Hope for more Kirby's Adventure Wii tomorrow, completed the main story but now there's an extra mode.
It'll be pure Smash for me this weekend. All World of Light.
@617Sqn
Those are my games i played during weekend.
I posted the pictures as well to show what it looks like.
Some games i played are mostly peoples here NEVER knew before.
Bought Flashback and instantly remembered why I never played past the second screen on the Genesis. 😂.
Started playing Downwell a bit, and was feeling it.
Mostly got back into Doom 2016 again. It’s been giving me a desire to buy an XBoneX.
Caveat, I’ve got an Xbox one and a PS4 controller I use with the Switch and I don’t really dig the Xbox controller.
We played some Wargroove and we were very disappointed. So we bought Tiny Barbarian DX, because it was on sale for 10$. We had a blast the last 8 hours! A perfect "best buddy coop game"!
Mariokart 8 Wii U edition
@mcdreamer You're playing Xenoblade 1 & Xenoblade X!!! I'm very jealous! Those games are awesome as long as you have enough time to really get into them
Stardew Valley & MK8DX on the Switch. Fast Racing Neo on the good old Wii U.
@leo13 Xenoblade 2 and Torna were so excellent that I had to get a Wii U to play the other games! Need to decide which one I'm going to fully focus on soon, once I finish 3D World as an appetiser
@GrailUK Yeap, Moon Cresta is a silly old game. I am old enough though to have been feeding lots of drachmas (that's before we got euros) in its arcade machine having a lot of fun with it playing with my elder brother which I have unfortunately lost. So, it is fun and a little ceremonial for me to play this game, remembering my brother too
@Cosats Awww. That's touching mate.
@zool Disgaea 5 is amazing, played it after I could put down launch day Zelda. Sunk 80 hours into story and DLC content, highly recommended. Why I got no.1 👍🏻
I'm going to be busy with non-gaming activities with the family this weekend, but I did take a few minutes to finally finish off unlocking Smash Bros. characters last night. Woohoo!
@mcdreamer wow! You're in for some amazing times! If you play those 2 back to back right after playing 2 & Torna man I can't even imagine! Enjoy!
@Tourer145 will start 5 soon, Yooka-Laylee to finish first.
Besides some routine spiritboarding and a couple Isaac runs, this weekend has been mostly about Xenoblade for me. After some big events (the tragic part of which was quite intense even if Smash Spirit Board may have planted some spoilers here prior - and if anything, I'm now even more intrigued about the context than I was at first), I actually seem to have access to other territories past Colony 9... except there seem to be more quests in Colony 9. My apologies to Shulk and his "right now".
Some progress in Tales of Destiny, too, after a subway session period of level grinding. Finally having a resurrection spell certainly doesn't hurt.
@leo13 thanks!
@zool @Orin41 @nhSnork @nhSnork @Tourer145 @Orin41 @LunarFlame17 @mauhlin12 @bolt05
If you guys haven't seen yet Ys VIII is on sale on the Switch right now. I think I have enough credit left to go buy it
https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/FdpopMj7tBV0WYSpoKOkjQEnQXMCraPX
@leo13 Thanks! I 100%ed Ys VIII on both PS4 and Switch and I also have been recommending it to people especially now that it's on sale. Brilliant game and series.
@leo13 go for it, then! I don't plan a purchase now, especially being seven games behind and focusing on other franchise binges at this time, but thanks for the heads-up anyway. Ys series has been on my radar for ages and I'm glad to have VIII available on Switch.
Well the weekend is a distant memory, but it was a mario themed one for me, gaming wise. Defeated bowser in odysee and collected a few extra moons. Think ill probably carry on on that one until i get bored before moving onto xc2 or skyrim. Also played a bit more of mario bros 3. Plus a bit of enter the gungeon
@nhSnork I am going to buy it. I've also never played another Ys game before but I asked several and it doesn't matter you can fully enjoy this one without the others
@leo13 I hear that a lot. XD But it's not just about plot connections alone - seeing the growth and evolution of a franchise in order of release (when possible, at least) has its value as well. I haven't done that with everything, but Ys is a series where all the flagships are available translated and portable, so it would be a waste not to make use of that.
When it comes to VIII eventually, I know where I'll be buying it. Unless it takes long enough that I'll live to see it ported to Switch's successor as well. XD
@steve_1978 Because the voting options are determined by what the writers are playing any given weekend. If something you're playing isn't on that list, you choose "something else" and can comment below, which is the last survey option.
ROLLING THE ANTHEM ALL WEEKEND LONG....
