Will be interesting to see which game gets to 3M first, Smash or Splatoon? Probably Smash since it's newer and has more momentum right now, but still pretty cool that a newer IP can even be competing for best selling Switch game in Japan.
Nintendomination in Japan, as usual.
That is actually pretty hilarious. Super Mario Odyssey is gonna hit two million soon. It wasn’t that long ago that Splatoon 2 was the first game at retail in Japan to reach two million for a long time, and now it and Smash are well on the way to hitting THREE million! Wow. Unstoppable.
Why, out of all good Switch Nintendo software to take the top spot away from Kingdom Hearts III, why is this rehash at the top?
@personauser0893
Nomura wanted to cut the loose threads (and thankfully the new unanswered questions introduced in every game were kept to a minimum this time), hence the lack of Final Fantasy cameos. This makes the second Moogle-only KH game, with the other holding such dubious honor being Days on the DS.
SMP is over a million now! And those hardware numbers are insane.
If they don't do SMP DLC at this point, they'd be crazy. Great game, but I've done it all too many times already, I need more to come back after a month absence. Doesn't even need to be free tbh
Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 are just killing it!
I want blue toad as a standalone character
The extra twirl mapped to L zl
Ice flower with fire flower physics
Wearable super crown for the other characters so they can get moons (they dont have to get any powers from it tho)
And online play with the miis
It pleasantly amazes me that so many evergreen Nintendo Switch titles are still charting so well.
Kingdom Hearts for Switch, and Japan explodes!
Holy mother of god...the rest of the market sold 26,144 consoles!! Combined! This is perhaps the worst week yet in terms of the Switch mopping the floor with the rest of the competition in the land of the rising sun.
@AlexSora89
Because that rehash is brand new to most! As with all Wii U software.
I never knew Smash performed well in Japan.
KH3 was a disappointment, but i thought it would of been at a million in Japan by 3rd week.
@Agent721
Yes, but what with it being a NSMB (although the apex of what could be done with NSMBs as a whole), we've reached Inception levels of rehashitude.
Over 60K.......Switch is doing crazy numbers in Japan. January and February are suppose to be slower sales months. The Direct just basically announced major games dropping on a regular basis. I can't see PS4 holding off the Switch much longer as far as total sales go in Japan.
@AlexSora89
That goes with almost every long term franchise though. If you enjoy the formula it’s still a good time. But that’s a hilarious comment!
Nintendo has 12 of the top 20 spots. Nice!
@hoopderscotch im gonna be honest, i wasnt gonna try that out... but it totally worked!!!! Thank you!!! What an obscure way to disable a feature lol to those tryin it out you'll know it worked cause you will hear nabbit making some noises
@Agent721
Happy to have gotten a laugh out of you. I'm not ruling out giving the game a chance by default, though.
