I have them all but I might just check it out as the Mega Man character spirit battles are among the most fun imo plus I gotta level them all!
These events are almost completely useless to be honest. It's not that hard getting all spirits without these events and they don't feel special at all either unlike Splatoon 's Splatfests or even ARMS Party Crashes. I don't know, they seem rather pointless to me, the game wants to make them seem like a bigger deal than they really are.
The events are fine, they have a few bonuses that encourage play on the weekend, they serve as promotion for specific series or the game itself, etc.
The in-game shop has discounts on Sunday too, just because.
I like that Nintendo tries to promote their current games with special events, tournaments, and the like, which naturally makes sense from a business perspective. However, the question is always, will they continue throughout the lifecycle of their console, or will they stop when something more financially viable is released. If they stop, that encourages being an early adopter for a specific games, to take part in the activities, but slightly discourages buying a game later.
On another subject, today is the Wii Shop's "for good" shutdown day.
I'd love to join the event, but not without a patch, sorry.
@AlexSora89
But... its only for All-Star.. not Spirits mode...
I would like to have a word with that docta wahwee spirit!
I still can't get that freaking Pauline spirit. Went to Youtube to get at least a strategy. Have to try it out later.
Dr Wily was a hard nut to crack... I think I finally beat him with Mega Man, fittingly.
Great - I am missing 3 Mega Man spirits. I already wasted all shuffle items and still never got the change to get Rush or Elecman
@ed5275 All Spirits eventually pop up in the shop so it's just worth saving up some gold/SP and checking regularly!
@ed5275
Git gud
By only looking at the picture before reading the title, I thought it was some news on Megaman series. More importantly, about Legends, what with Volnutt in the center
@NintendoPete
Spirits Board prioritises spirits you don't have yet anyway, eventually you will see them.
Elec Man is obtainable via World of Light adventure mode too.
FYI you are probably better off selling board items like shuffle, all primaries, etc for spirit points. All items used for spirits can be sold, and you'll want to do this if you hit the maximum capacity (e.g. 999 snacks)
@RupeeClock
then I have to check if it is actually Elecman that is missing because I 100% World of Light
@ed5275
I barely made it with a floaty Ike, just chasing Peach.
@NintendoPete
It's possible that you dismissed Elec Man in order to summon another spirit, but I can't remember if Elec Man is a specific requirement for any summons.
@RandomLeo00 (And to anyone else concerned) I actually got it over my lunch. Rocket Belt + Cupid support spirits. Two shots from across the board and it was over in less than 10 seconds.
Got gud.
@Yosher
It's not that hard for people that game a lot but for those that only play a little bit every week it is incentive to play smash on their switch instead of something else on something that might not be their switch.
@SetupDisk I feel like people who only play it a little bit every week will have a 'been there, done that' feeling before long and eventually stop caring. These events just feel kind of tacked-on for the hell of it, and certainly don't have that ''Oh man I have to get in on this action'' kind of excitement going for them.
I'm sure there's people who do enjoy the events though. But for the vast majority, I feel like it's a bit of a lost oppertunity to make it something a little more grand.
@DrawnRed
Better not take any risks. Not with more than sixty unlockable characters and more than eight hundred spirits unlocked.
Besides, I heard not even Classic Mode is safe for some people, and I did just that - and Training, and a random Smash match - with Piranha Plant. As soon as a patch is released, I'm going to jump right back on board.
