Xbox one doubled it’s sales from last week!

When I always look at this I am always awed by how strong the Nintendo Switch is represented in terms of games.

Also I am sad, on the one hand yeah to New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe moving numbers, but for me as a Wii U owner that does nothing :s

@Evilworm The human likes to follow the popular opinion of the majority. This means, that the Switch, most likely, will retain the top seats - despite Resi 2 and Kingdom Hearts 3. For my part, I give a sh** on sales numbers and am more excited about the titles mentioned above than anything listed on these charts, regarding the games on Switch. I'll surely belong to the minority with that opinion, but, oh well...

@gortsi brother, Nintendo only sold 22 mil worldwide, there is still a possibility for it to sell just a measly 30-40 mil and capped.

When i played their games especially last year Pkmn LessGo / Kirby and Smash Bro, all i can think of is MEH unlike Botw / Odyssey and Xenoblade. Nintendo better buckle up this year, if all they had again is PORTS / INDIES and MOBILES or turning their IP into 'For 5yr Old Children', then yes it will plummet like the Wii U.

At the rate it's selling Smash will soon overtake Splatoon as the biggest selling Switch title by the end of Feb or so, wow!

@Evilworm I don't know if you have any tears left, and I sincerely hate to say the Switch is currently sitting on more than 30 millions units sold, and will be AT LEAST at 35 by the end of march.
And, worst of all, keep some of these tears for next fiscal year because that will be just insane. Sorry

@Evilworm 22 million was at the beginning of October and right before the biggest sales time of year. If they even matched last year's holiday sales they'll be around 30 million at this moment (and most signs point to them having blown past last year's holiday sales). If your going to argue that a console with 30 million sales in less than 2 years might drop off to sell less than 10 million in the next 3 or 4 years, than it's very obvious you have no idea how console sales work.

@Evilworm tell us what you know about Fire Emblem: Three Houses? Luigi's Mansion 3? Pokemon 2019? Yoshi's Crafted World? or Animal Crossing? surely you know about these being "ports" right?

@itslukec Exactly, that's part of my opinion. The Switch has to give special thanks to the continuing hype in social media, that it sells so well. But, that's only my personal point of view, since I'm not satisfied with the console yet and still prefer the games that release on PS4.

I'm still hyped for Bayonetta 3 though.

Why you all denying the underwhelming performance frm Nintendo last year, almost every games that i bought and enjoyed was on other systems like GOW / Spiderman / RDR2 with RE2 and KH3 being next in line. When these games appeared in TGA 2018 im not one bit surprised, cept for xenoblade 2 not winning best soundtrack. Nothing i bought frm Nintendo Wowed me. And im not alone in it.

Nintendo merely pulled a one off wonder in 2017. And now its turning back to its Wii U roots.

KH3 might be a system sell for the PS4 in Japan (I know at least one KH game sold 1 million copies alone in Japan), but I’m not sure about Biohazard 2 being a system seller, but those two combined could at least momentarily bring the PS4 to #1 or at least bring it closer to the top spot (maybe like 40-60k sold next week)

It’ll carry on selling. It’s Mario and a game for everyone. Anyone can pick up and play and multiplayer coop works great, although I still have it on Wii u it’s a great game if you only have a switch

I don’t think any of Sony’s first party titles will make that much of a mark as they are very western oriented with the sole exception being Death Stranding with how large Hideo Kojima’s fan base is in Japan.

Weekly Switch hardware sales are up 60%+ YoY. Sales continue to see amazing growth over last year.

On the other hand, PS4 hardware sales have fallen nearly 70% YoY, despite a strong launch for Ace Combat 7. Looks like the upcoming launch of Kingdom Hearts 3 and Resident Evil 2 will have no meaningful impact whatsoever on PS4 hardware sales.

You were letdown but refuse to accept it. Lets GO/ Kirby can be played with your eyes closed. M.party / Smash are heavily reliant on friends. Octopath is bland AF in its plot. Even the ports are bugged, incomplete and lazy. The rest are games that i could play more portably on my smartphone.

SONY just keeps moving 3rd party games into the channel and collect on their licensing fees on each unit. That is the stage they in right now.

I would not call Super Smash Bros. Ultimate "mediocre". Kirby is for sure - found it boring and uninspired. Good thing it was a trade with my cousin and not a $60 purchase.

But In the end being able to go from playing Smash in December to Kingdom Hearts 3 in January beats being able to only play 1 or the other 😉😎

So pleased Ace Combat is doing so well.

I dont hate nintendo, i dont hate Sony i own both consoles. First, lets put all this 'Consoles' aside, just look at the games.

Last year Nintendo Got LAZY, made few games dumbed down from its previous entries, didnt make no games and just port them, charged full price for them, allowed crapload of indies and shovelwares into their digital storefront and call it 2018.

Thats not how it was in 2017, they shown something new innovative and delivered it thoroughly. They've shown Massive AAA quality games after Botw comes Odyssey then Xenoblade 2.....then Theres Metroid 4, Bayonetta 3 at TGA 2017 all are powerhouses with dedicated fanbase.

What about 2018... first in july...Smash!!! Then comes E3.. Smash!!! Then another direct specially made for Smash.....and even until TGA 2018.....Smash. they need 4 events for ONE 'fighting' game!!???

Its hard to explain but fighting game is really not that immersive IMO, i can be playing SMASH with my friends, Swapped the game to DBZ fighterZ and equally had FUN something like that.

To be more precise: I'm disappointed by lots of poor ports on Switch, because I thought of making Nintendo's hybrid my all-in-one console solution. Regarding Nintendo's exclusives: There is nothing to rant about here, in my opinion. I wasn't a fan of Mario Tennis, Pokémon Let's Go and Mario Party, to be honest, but I had fun with the rest and there is still more to come (Prime 4, Fire Emblem, Bayonetta 3, Shin Megami 5, Town, etc.).

@Evilworm Yeah. As someone who loved his Wii U, I was also disappointed by the amount of ports coming to Switch - at full price. Shovelware flooding the eShop is also a problem. 2018 wasn't the best year on Switch as an owner of multiple consoles. 2019 will surely be better, with all the promising exclusives pipelined. I hope.

When Nintendo is consistently making games that are getting weak why defend it. Lets GO pikachu is a Genuinely Dumbed down ,mechanics removed reskinned game, admit it as a copy pasted game, why defend it just because the name 'pokemon'??? Why defend it using the excuse 'its meant for kids'

Fire Red / Leaf Green is made for kids+ grown up so how's that a valid excuse??? the companies are looking to cash in on their popular pkmn GO that's that, easy money just like the eyes of EA, like Activision, Like Bethesda/ Blizzard. If you curse these companies, why should Nintendo be off the hook??

I also like Forza. I’d like to get an Xbox One X to play Gears 5 in the future, the Ori titles, Cuphead and of course Forza. I don’t have the cash at the moment - I’m still hoping for a price drop if Microsoft’s next console gets announced this year.

Switch is keeping some serious momentum in Japan, even during weeks it has no big release.

I heard the analysts now predicting 11 million sold over Q3. That means they only need to average 1.33 million per month for the final quarter to hit their 20 mil. Which will put them at nearly 40 mil sold by the end of year 2.

It ain't stopping and it ain't slowing down. And 2019 is probably going to be the best year yet. Certainly games-wise

I fired up No More Heroes the other day... and to my surprise, it's actually pretty fun! I thought for sure it was a waste after hearing so many reviews crapping on it, but... it's actually kinda fun? The combat is a blast, story sucks, but Idk... I love clicking L3 and giving a quick shake to recharge the "batteries" of my weapon. Sounds corny, but... it's just good old fashioned fun to me.

As I was telling some others earlier, it wont win any GotY awards, but it's a decent little game! I think some of those reviewers were a bit too harsh on it, Jimqisition especially. I get what hes saying story wise. I cant bring myself to care much either. But the game is interesting to play, looks pretty good visually on the handheld (havent tried on the TV yet) and, at the very least, is much better than I was expecting going in.

If you get a chance to play it, give it an chance. Maybe you'll hate it. Some people seem to. But there seems to be a number of people I've spoken with who, like me, feel the game is alot better than it's been given credit for.

@Evilworm I get what you are saying. I play a lot of indies, and have picked up a few of the ports along the way. I have kept very busy with the Switch, but for someone who is expecting block busters like Metroid Prime 4, Zelda, etc non stop on the console, you are going to be disappointed. That's just not how they operate. Call is lazy, or what you will, their strategy is paying off.

Yes they focused heavy on Smash, but it paid off for them. They gambled on a nearly sure bet and won. At the end of the day, do they want you as a fan? Or do they want 2.5 million Japanes
e people as fans. They can't make everyone happy, and they go where they will make the most money.

Am still hoping we'll get a brand new 2D Mario game on Switch but that will likely be an improved Super Mario Maker.

Even then last year was still better than the first years of the likes of xbox and ps4, where they're were basically just port machines.
Along with some notable ports of some great games on the Wii U there were still new titles released like Kirby Star Allies, Mario Tennis Aces, Super Mario Party, Pokemon Let's Go, and Super Smash Bros. There were also DLC to already great games like Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna: The Golden Country
There were also notable third party games both new and ports like Octopath Traveler, Dragon Quest Builders, Diablo 3, Warframe, Dark Souls, and Dragon Ball FighterZ. Along with some indies like Celeste.

You can make the argument that these games aren't good but that is entirely subjective, despite me probably agreeing with you for some of them, but you can't deny the success they received and them being system sellers like Smash and Pokemon. Sales are not going to slow down like the Wii U like you said earlier at all.

It's obvious this wasn't the Switch's best year, you're making it out to be worse than it actually is. Sure most of the games that came out this year didn't appeal to me, but thats ok, not everyone has to appeal to my tastes. For every game out there that I didn't want someone else would've. I didn't care for Mario Tennis Aces but I damn sure I was interested in Octopath Traveler.

Now let's look at this year with a list of confirmed games alone coming soon:
Animal Crossing
Yoshi's Crafted World
Luigi's Mansion 3
Fire Emblem Three Houses
Pokemon
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
Mortal Kombat 11

And that is just confirmed games coming to the switch, it's already looking a better year than 2018 and even rivaling the likes of 2017. There will most likely be new games announced this year as well.
Say you don't like any of the games listed above there are still ones that are going to come eventually like
Shin Megami Tensei V
Metroid Prime 4
Pikmin 4
Dragon Quest

If this doesn't convince you that this will be a good year then nothing will. But the facts remain about the Switch continuing to be a success.

Guys, guys, don't feed the trolls, especially the ones that can't spell properly. As a hardcore Xbox One fanboy myself, I'm ridiculously used to the Sony hate. Let them claim all the "Nintendo only caters to 5 year old" garbage all they want, then turn right around and play a few rounds of Spider-Man. They're hypocrites with nothing better to do than try to win an argument they alone are having. In the meantime, Switch pwns Japan, SMBDU finally finds the audience it deserves, Splatoon 2 continues to be one of the best games on the planet (despite shaky Nintendo online), and all is right in the world.

They have never announced a single mobile phone game in a direct or E3 presentation and tried to hype it up to their console audience, like Blizzard did with Diablo Immortal to their PC audience.
