The Nintendo Switch is about to get another dose of turn-based strategy goodness as Thea: The Awakening gets set for launch on the console next week.
Thea: The Awakening combines its turn-based strategic survival ways with Slavic myth and monstrosity, with events set after an apocalyptic force known as 'The Darkness' has engulfed the world. There are no heroes, no monster slayers, and no great armies to speak of here; you have only a few hopeless and starving survivors who are desperately trying to stay alive - and you're their last and only hope.
We've gathered some screenshots and a small feature list for you to check out below:
Features:
- The game combines turn-based strategic gameplay with the tension and grit of a survival game.
- A captivating story you can uncover through a series of in-game events.
- A unique combat system based on a complex card battle game.
The game launches on Switch on 1st February, and is available at 10% off from now until one week after it releases. At present, the eShop has it available for $17.99 / £14.39.

Releasing on the same day as WarGroove, though this one offers a different experience.
Feburuary 1st looks like a good day for turn-based strategy fans. Guess it's finally our turn
Saw a trailer of this yesterday and it looks really cool! It kijd of looks like Armello, vut this one has a story which is awesome!!! Gonna sink my teeth into this one I think!
Looks interesting and sets a rather neat pricetag for the content it seems to offer. Keeping it on my radar.
Looks pretty good. I may get it in the future.
This looks interesting. I do love my rpgs and strategy games.
@SmaggTheSmug yeah but War Groove got my heart/day, so I will pass this one (maybe come back later on? who knows...)
What's the difference between this game and Civilization VI?
I'll stick with Wargroove thank you very much.
Another game that'll have a teeny-tiny illegible UI in handheld. Yay.
Is this like armello? And do i need binoculars to play it?
Looks really cool. I really like the exploration and story/choice elements. Can anyone comment on how the combat plays out? It looks like its a card game of some sort but I find the quality of these experiences can vary greatly. Thanks in advance.
