Previously expected to arrive in "fall 2018", Crystal Crisis now has a new Switch release date of 23rd April 2019.
If you've missed the news on this one, Crystal Crisis is a colour-matching combat game featuring fan favourite characters from the likes of Cave Story, The Binding of Isaac, and Tezuka Productions (although "many other surprise entrants" have also been teased). The game is presented as a traditional fighting game, but instead of pressing buttons to kick and punch, competitors arrange falling crystals into matching colours to clear them from the screen.
Doing so will inflict attacks on your opponents, and those opponents will be made up of a star-studded cast of 19 different playable characters from the games mentioned above and more. You can see some of these stars in the game's opening cinematic below.

It looks interesting a guess. Will keep an eye on it.
Finally. But where is my physical copies of Save Me Mr. Tako and Ikaruga on Switch?
Get rid of the characters and it's just another mobile app
Still waiting for Blade Strangers physical in Europe...
This looks good. I have my eye on this one. I am missing a good puzzle game.
Pretty keen for this. I enjoy a good puzzle game and it has quite a few characters I like. Preordered my physical import just the other day.
@Bunkerneath What about it makes you consider it a 'mobile app'? I don't get it.
@BenAV It's just a versus version of candy crush.
The blocks fall down, you make a group you hurt the other character.
@Bunkerneath For starters, falling block puzzle games are completely different to match three ones. The latter are well suited to touch screens whereas the former isn't, so that's not a great comparison gameplay-wise. That's pretty irrelevant though as the main defining feature of mobile games such as Candy Crush Saga that separate them from most 'real' (for lack of a better word) games is the free-to-play nature and the microtransations.
@Bunkerneath Sounds more like Puzzle Fighter.
I may be the only one here, but heck ya to Astro Boy being playable.
@patbacknitro18 It's cool he's in this, as weird as it is to see him alongside Isaac.
Hopefully they polish the looks, because the game looks very unappealing right now. I am also eager for a new Puzzle Fighter and I like a few of those characters, but I wish it would look better. I'm not sure if 3D was the correct choice.
Would rather have a new Astro Boy game like the GBA Omega factor one
@patbacknitro18 You're not alone. I suck at Super Puzzle Fighter but Astro Boy makes me want to give this a try regardless.
Super puzzle fighter is my favorite puzzle game ever. If this is a total ripoff of that, I’m definitely buying it. I hope it has a cool single player mode
@ClassSonicSatAm
Well, Nicalis publishes this game featuring Astro Boy and they published the Switch version of Treasure's Ikaruga.
Treasure developed Astro Boy Omega Factor...
Maybe this will lead to something?
This looks really fun! I love puzzle games!!!
What, not another Shovel Knight cameo?
Ive been really looking forward to this. Im not disappointed its not releasing this year tho. More relieved. Too much to play right now.
Works for me. I will get it eventually. I am in for Black Jack.
This is basically Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo with HD graphics and different characters. Count me in!!!
Ok but here's the question: is Shovel Knight in this game?
Never thought I wanted an indie Puzzles and Dragons, but Astro Boy himself makes the game worthwhile.
Anything with the Black Jack VA narrating has to be good.
Astro Boy!!! Suddenly a must have
Preordered this quite a while ago. I am a Puzzle Fighter fanatic so this was a must. Glad to finally know when this is coming.
Indie heroes and... Astro Boy?
I''m a fan of Daisuke Amaya, Edmund McMillan AND Osamu Tezuka, but this is still weird to me.
Odd that Johnny Turbo is in it.
