Aw I saw the wind waker pic and thought it had been announced for switch or something.
It's a good selection of discounts though.
It's been said so many times before, but Switch rewards when?
@Matthew010 you can use your gold coins on the eShop for any purchase. It's basically the same as these discounts. Just better (as in, not restricted to what My Nintendo has available).
But, Style Savvy Styling Star & Dillon's Dead Heat Breakers are still NEVER released in Physic for USA version.
Dang it !
I must buy the Europe version 3DS to play them Physically.
@Yosheel But for a £40 game you get 40p worth of coins. Unless you buy loads of games, you can't get very high discounts.
It's easy to ignore these discounts because they're so frequently terrible, but at least the selection of games for this update is of a high-quality and relatively new, especially on 3DS.
Either everything I've played already or not interested in. Who knows? Maybe that one thing will pop in one day that I simply can't pass up...
@Yosheel 90 gold coins is worth $13 off a 3DS game and 90 cents off a Switch game. That's 14x more value for the same coins, so no, it's not the same.
Most of those are quality games, so no complaints here. I do still need to pick up Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, but I think I'll grab a physical copy.
@Yosheel don’t think I’d consider it “better”. 90 gold coins gets you a 30% discount on Wii U or 3DS games (specific selection) but on Switch those same 90 gold coins would save you .90 off the price. Not even close to offering the same value even when you add in the ability to use towards any game.
So... what about the new Switch online service? Where are those special deals? It’s like MyNintendo is for people who still use 3DS and Wii U only. I still enjoy mine... but c’mon. I have everything I want or need for the old systems. I’m hoarding my gold coins now in hopes for Switch themes and stuff in the next few months... Also, When do we get the October NES games?
These discounts suck.
Now's a good time to finally get Styling Star. Too bad I have to save money for dinky grown up stuff like rent and bills.
@Yosheel Same here. - Why aren’t these on Switch yet anyways???
3DS games = gold points
Wii U games = platinum points
Think that says it all.
Great games if you haven’t played them yet.
My Nintendo keeps giving
It's so stupid that they actually have Hyrule Warriors on their newest console, but they're offering this on an outdated version.
DQVIII, Majora's Mask, and Wild Waker HD are all fantastic though, even with the latter's pacing issues and small number of dungeons.
I loved the original Superstar Saga but passed on the remake. But I might grab the discount and then decide if I still want it.
So are they just never going to offer discounts on Switch games?
Oh well. At least I can use my gold coins to slightly reduce the price of whatever I want on the eshop.
They will never offer Switch discounts on My Nintendo. They removed the 'Switch Rewards' category and replaced it with the 1 gold coin = 0.01c towards anything. Bum deal.
I've lost thousands of platinum points and hundreds of gold points to their asinine expiration dates with nothing to spend them on. I want the old My Nintendo back — the one where we could get cool Nintendo swag — not this 30% discount on years-old digital games hooey.
Still wish we could use them for something more than 50 cents off a Switch game. How about 30%?
30% off Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions:
Sounds good, until you Google best price and you find physical copies cheap or cheaper than the eshops 30% discount price.
@Matthew010 You actually get 2 GBP worth of points (200), which are 5% and exactly what you got back in the Wii U days (when everyone was praising the program).
For some time now they have decreased the value of gold points by giving 5 times as much. So a 60 bucks game gives you 300 gold points now. You really can't expect them to give you a 30% price cuts for 3 1/3 games, just by purchasing one game. The reason 3DS and Wii U rewards are still so cheap is, because they haven't transitioned yet to the new gold point value. Unless Nintendo doesn't give a flying Waluigi WAH for the old systems, this will probably happen, as soon as all 'old' (more valuable) gold points have been either spent or expired.
I would prefer a Switch discount....
I guess we are really never going back to the time when Nintendo rewards were... actual rewards.
OMG nintendo. Discount some of your first party Switch games, digitally, at least. Jebus Christmas.
My Nintendo is a sad, pale shade of what Club Nintendo was.
I sure do miss Club Nintendo's more tangible rewards (though I regret not getting the Ultra Hand game download).
@Matthew010 it OK Nintendo hate new switch only fans obviously.
I just hope they do another nindie gold point offer this month. I would love to be able to pick up another game before the last of my Gold coins fade away.
As for the silver coins, meh I get a wallpaper every month and that is about all it is worth.
Meh... not interested in the wallpapers and calendars and I already have the vast majority of games being discounted. I have no clue why they insist on having calendars rather than just making them into wallpapers, either. Oh and I miss Club Nintendo rewards so much
