Blizzard's Diablo III Eternal Collection arrives on the Switch at the start of next month. Obviously, if you want to play online with other people, you'll need to sign up to Nintendo's online membership.

If not, though, you're won't entirely miss out on the fun. Earlier this month, a Blizzard community manager over on the game's official forums confirmed the popular seasons mode would not require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription:

There’s some confusion about the necessity of the Nintendo Switch Online service in relation to the upcoming Diablo III: Eternal Collection. To clarify, access to playing Seasons does not require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. However, access to online multiplayer does.

It was also mentioned how the seasons mode on Switch is freely accessible - just like it currently is in the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game.

In seasons mode you can unlock special in-game achievements and obtain exclusive cosmetic items such as pets, portraits, wings and pennants.

Are you glad to hear this? Will you be picking up Diablo III Eternal Collection on release? Tell us in the comments.
