If you haven't heard about Bowsette by now, where have you been? The character has become a superstar on the internet over the past week when an illustrator located in Malaysia tweeted a comic featuring the Peach and Bowser mashup inspired by an item set to appear in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.

Since then, fandom for the fan-made character has reached an all-time high. It's now got to the point where Nintendo has even acknowledged it in the way it knows best. When asked by J-Cast News about the creation, to the surprise of no one, a Nintendo spokesperson made the following statement:

Concerning the drawings and other things uploaded to the Internet, we have no comment.

So there you have it, in classic Nintendo fashion, it's likely going to let this current craze for the fan-made character pass by - similar to how it remained silent about the recent subjects surrounding Toad.

Can you blame Nintendo, though? The top comment underneath the recent Super Mario Odyssey costume reveal was a request for a Bowsette outfit. A prominent adult entertainment website has also released a statement about the Bowsette craze - revealing searches for the fan-made character have increased:

On Monday, September 24th searches for "Bowsette" increased by 2900 %. The curiousity for users only grew larger yesterday with an increase of 5849%.

Keeping in mind Nintendo is a family-friendly company, it seems unlikely it will ever turn this into an actual thing. Still, that won't stop the community from creating more characters. There's now even a "Boosette" trying to steal the spotlight.

What do you make of all of this? Are you a fan of Bowsette? Are you at all surprised by what Nintendo has said regarding this latest internet trend? Have you been searching for her fanart...and videos online? Tell us below.
