If you haven’t ever tried out Rocket League, now might be a good time. Psyonix in partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive has announced Rocket League: Ultimate Edition for the Nintendo Switch will arrive instore in North America, Europe and a handful of other territories on 28th August for $49.99 (or the regional equivalent).

The Ultimate Edition of the game contains the base game and all of the content from the Collector’s Edition. There are 16 DLC Battle-Cars included and a collection of cosmetic items as well. Here's what you can expect:

  • Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Car Pack
  • Chaos Run DLC Pack
  • DC Super Heroes DLC Pack
  • Revenge of the Battle-Cars DLC Pack
  • Supersonic Fury DLC Pack
  • Aftershock, Esper, Marauder, Masamune, Proteus, Triton and Vulcan DLC Battle-Cars

All of the above will be on-cartridge -- no code inserts in sight!

It's worth noting the Switch version of the Ultimate Edition costs $10.00 more than other versions of the game. Psyonix previously addressed price increases on this specific platform when the Collector's Edition was announced at the end of last year:

As many of you have likely noticed, the MSRP for Rocket League Collector’s Edition is $10 more on Nintendo Switch than the same version on other platforms. As much as we tried to keep the retail price down, the reality of the Switch’s increased cartridge manufacturing costs meant that the MSRP had to be higher as well. That said, we are still VERY confident that players who join us from the retail side will get plenty of enjoyment from what Rocket League has to offer and we look forward to welcoming them to the community next month!

If you don't own Rocket League, would this physical release interest you? Would you consider the Ultimate Edition as a digital owner of the game? Are you still playing this game on a regular basis? Tell us below.
