Last December, First 4 Figures revealed it was collaborating with the iconic UK developer, Rare, to release a new line of collectibles based on the Banjo-Kazooie and Conker game series. Fast forward to several months later and the first statue in this new line - Banjo-Kazooie - has now been unveiled. Sporting a classic look reminiscent of the bird and bear in the original Nintendo 64 title, the unlikely duo has arguably never looked better.
Estimated to be released in the second-half of 2019, pre-orders for both the exclusive and regular edition can be officially validated on the 10th July, with the exclusive version available until 7th August. The fancier one features a gold chrome plated base and also includes a special gold Jiggy and musical note. Based on the provided product information, this is easily one of the larger First 4 Figures, which explains why it costs a grand total of $429.99.

F4F are soooo expensive though. The new crash bandicoot one is £400!
That is beautiful and a piece of art but similar to their other work, there is simply no way I could justify spending the better half of a mortgage payment on a statue.
Ah, if only I had that kind of disposable income...
Mmmmmm...
...
When's the Amiibo coming? I'll happily pay Amiibo prices.
Oh that looks just so beautiful! I need it before the scalpers get them.
It looks like a big ghostly tongue is coming out of his belly.
@TeeJay It's air swooshing and the only way to make them fly.
If I was rich I'd waste a lot of monies. I'll be happy with my amiibo and plush collection.
I just pre-ordered it. Just curious, did anyone else do?
Really not a fan of the pose. I'd be far more tempted if they were just stood upright holding a jiggy or something. Shame too as i'd been looking forward to this.
$400+ for something that sits nicely between my velvet Elvis and my ceramic sculpture of Calvin peeing on baby Jesus? Where do I sign up?!!
Holy hell the things people spend money on.
Does it come with a free Switch for that price?
Statues and action figures are a very specific niche. Especially when I convert the amounts to Brazilian Real...
@BlueOcean I did! I went for the exclusive edition on the F4F website
Looks great. But not spending the money to get it
@arayo13 Me too! Sure it is not cheap but it's big, carefully made, not a plastic cheap toy and I'll keep this as a treasure forever.
I better buy a 2nd switch . I will have more fun .
These things look nice, but in usual fashion for F4F it is just way over the top and ridiculously expensive. It's like, I really have to wonder who would pay for something like this.
I don't remember Banjo's eyes looking like he was on PCP...
They did a Spyro figure shortly before the announcement of the Reignited Trilogy, which caused a lot of speculation about a Spyro remake. If Microsoft gave First 4 Figures the right to use their intellectual property, I can only assume it means they want to keep it relevant for something. With Nintendo and Microsoft's recent buddy-buddy attitude... Banjo-Kazooie for Smash?
@ReaderRagfish Do your farts come from your belly?
@Kingrat If you watch the video you'll understand why. It is at 21:46 to save you time.
@Jayenkai As soon as Banjo gets into Smash
@Not_Soos it is Banjos 20th anniversary. So either they are planning some big things like a sequel or Banjo in Smash......or this is Microsoft's only way of celebrating their birthday.
@patbacknitro18 In the video they say that Rare helped them with the flying pose and gave them artistic guidelines and that working with them and Microsoft was straightforward. Hopefully people are right and Banjo will have a new game soon.
By the way the figure is made of hand-painted resin and the smaller jiggy and notes in the exclusive edition are made of metal.
@BlueOcean Yep, and with so much effort put into it, this could just be Microsoft's only way of celebrating their anniversary.
@patbacknitro18 Hopefully something else is coming soon (not this year though).
Looks like a tapeworm spewing out of his bellybutton. They could have designed the effect better for that price.
The figure looks better in the video.
Kinda sad that the only new thing coming from the Banjo-Kazooie franchise nowadays is just some statue. Where's all the creativity for a new game at Microsoft? Why not just give BK back to Nintendo so we get an actual game?
Ok, honestly: Banjo's naked snout, feet, hands and belly look just plain weird. He looks like Rare just clumsily remolded Donkey Kong into a bear. And the big eyes make him creepy.
I love Banjo Kazooie and the statue looks great. Especially the mini jiggy and note.
But it is so big.
I have the First4figures 2 mario statues and 2 of the sonic statues that are all a better size to display.
I am worried on missing out on a Banjo Kazooie statue. But i have no idea where to display it.
Beautiful, but faaaaaaarrrr to expensive. As always.
AND NOW THEY'RE IN SMASH!!!
