SNK’s Neo Geo Mini online presentation has just dropped, providing us with plenty of information and footage about the new device. The system will arrive in Japan this summer, with the price of the unit to be announced in the near future. A global release will follow at a later date.
As previously revealed, there are two different versions of the system. The first is the regular Neo Geo Mini and the second is the International version. Each will include 40 titles, with a total of 14 different titles between the two. This is a link to the full list of games.
The presentation provided a closer look at the unit itself, showing how compact the device is - with a 3.5 inch LCD display and weighing in at only 390 grams. It's powered by USB, has HDMI television output, a headphone jack, stereo speakers, and two ports for controllers - reconfirming previous reports.
Pressing start or select on the controller will access the settings, including the save and load states. On the big screen, you'll be able to adjust the screen aspect ratio and resolution. SNK is also in the process of making special Neo Geo themed stickers and protective filters for the system's screen.
What do you think of the Neo Geo Mini based on the footage from the presentation? Tell us in the comments below.

I am definitely getting that. It will go nicely with my snes mini. (And nes mini, when it re-releases)
The concept remains fascinating.
The price remains unknown.
Just waiting for the NES classic reprint. This is good for those who want it, though!
Do the joystick and buttons actually work or are they just for show? A 3.5 inch screen is tiny so I think I'll just stick to playing SNK games on Switch ,at least I can play those comfortably when away from the TV.
@OorWullie Me too, it's really cute but I love having all my titles on the Switch, ready to go anywhere and play comfortably anytime. The Switch is already kind of the ultimate Neo Geo machine, I don't need another one.
I'll stick to Switch for now but if it ever got to the bargain bin I may pick one up. If not then at least SNK tried, I'll still buy their 40th anniversary collection for Switch though, that to me is a must buy. Crystalis, Psycho Soldiers, and Ikari Warriors all on one package alongside other SNK hidden gems pre-NeoGeo, that is gonna be awesome.
A question!; the "mini normal" and "mini international" versions will be the same worldwide?, I ask because, this is in Japan now, then I believe that "mini mormal" will have Japan versions of the games and the worldwide will have the international versions; well, it's my doubt.
@retro_player_22 Yep they had me at Ikari Warriors, me and my friends dumped some serious quarters in that machine when we were in jr high school.
@JoeyJoey95 It's from SNK so yes it's the former. SNK had learn from their past mistake with the NeoGeo X and decided to produced this themselves this time. This is something Sega should had learn by now with the Sega Genesis / MegaDrive Mini but it seems they couldn't let go of AtGames for some reason.
This looks uncomfortable to play. Cute and interesting for sure. I’m not sure what I’d do with so many fighting games. Who really loves each variation of the King of Fighters?
I'm happy with my Switch. Hamster are doing a great job (especially with Caravan mode!). That said...it's amazing!
I personally like having my Neo Geo on Switch. But I guess it's the novelty that people want, just like SNES mini. Although we don't have SNES on Switch so there was that.
I really don't understand all of the complaining about "having to play on the tiny screen". First off, the screen isn't any smaller than any other handheld you've always played on, such as the DS and 3DS, and even more importantly: you don't HAVE to play on the smaller screen.
You can just play on your TV, and also use official controllers with it, as Neo Geo games SHOULD be played. The original console was never a handheld, and the games deserve to be displayed on a big screen, like the original games used to be.
@OorWullie At least with it being 4:3 it'll be the same screen height as a 4.3" 16:9 screen. Still pretty tiny, but the 3.5" diagonal goes a little further with a narrow aspect ratio. Still small though, like you say.
Wow, tiny! Looks fun. Not a super fan of the brand though.
