I love Books, anime and videogames so Visual novels shoud be perfect for me.but somehow i cant get in to it.i tried a lot but i just dont like it.
Call me when "My Boyfriend is a Mermaid" comes out.
It's not an H-title, is it? Because mermaid girlfriend would always raise some, let's say, specific questions.
@Cosats "My Boyfriend is a Merman" FIFY
Unless the intent is that the "boyfriend" is to have a sex change upon transformation.
@SmaggTheSmug
Now you made me remember that one Futurama episode...
Cool. I like mermaids. I like visual novels. Will the two prove to be an effective mix? Time will tell!
@Cosats Not a game, but you could always read/watch "Merman in my Tub" if you haven't already.
Intriguing! Probably will pick it up.
There are some really awesome VNs out there. I would love to see ports of the Steins Gate series. Or perhaps some of the M rated Fate titles(several of the Fate VNs are almost certainly too adult to end up on Switch but some might make the cut)
Ooooh, nice. Now release me with a harpy and other monster girls.

Are there any visual novels where your girlfriend isn't a mermaid/robot/angel/dolphin/pliable lump of jelly?
Or where do you something other than 'have a girlfriend' as the main plot line.
Hoping that one day Tsukihime will be rereleased on Switch...and then maybe the Melty Blood games.
Day one.
@Heavyarms55 Steins;Gate Elite IS coming to the Switch. I think it's already confirmed for a western releases.
Would love to have Fate or something from Key tho
@Ahlvin23 Have you at least tried 999 (Zero Escape series)?
It's what got me into visual novels!
@Platinumhobo How it that anyways? I enjoyed the anime and the manga but never got around to the game.
@TsukiDeity i played a bit of the second one.loved the artstyle and the crazy story but the puzzels were a bit to dificult for me.
I love when video game titles are so concise and to the point.
@Animaker9 Wait, really?! Where did you hear that?! Oh I hope you are right!
Wikipedia agreed with you! I had no idea! Suddenly so much hype!
@Lizuka I saw that anime. It wasn't that bad but it wasn't that great either. Typical harem anime fare with over the top ridiculousness. Still better than this though.
@Heavyarms55 I'd ask for DDLC, but I don't think that'd work on anything other than PC. Not normally into visual novels, but I'd get one more like that.
@Yorumi Funny, I did have an idea for a game where you play as a mermaid, but it was more of a beat em up/platformer where you use water based attacks. Although I imagined it taking place on land and never really worked out how the game would change underwater.
Interesting. (but not really a fan with titles like that though.)
@Yorumi Yeah, but the movement system would have to change. Part of the problem is that I imagine the mermaid character being basically made of water and essentially shapeshift to perform attacks, kind of like Chaos from Sonic. So how would a character made of water navigate through water? That's the part of this I never really solved.
I love visual novel games. Stein;gate is my top 5 games off all time.
Currently playing chaos;child on the vita. I will look for review when release to see if its worth picking up.
Seto no Hanayome?
Might get it if it's not too expensive
@Bolt_Strike I've always liked the idea of a mermaid martial artist including the trope of turning human when the lower half of her body is dry, but if she does get wet while still on dry land, then she breaks out into capoeira to defend herself until she can get dry again.
She looks suspiciously Nia-like, which is best girl.in all of gaming, imo.
May pick it up.
Still a better love story than twilight
@TsukiDeity I really liked what I saw of Tsukihime, since I've never gotten the chance to do a playthrough of my own.
Melty Blood, mmm, love that series. I would gladly import the ones that came on ps2 when I have some money to spare.
@Ahlvin23 Did you try bringing it down to easy mode where the characters will give you many hints? It's a feature I used a few times, really helped me with a few rooms I was stumped. haha
