Rocket League update 1.0.5 is now live, and brings with it a raft of improvements, including tournaments, video capture and better garage inventory management.
However, one feature present which wasn't mentioned in the patch notes is the ability to connect your Nintendo Account to video streaming service Twitch - but it doesn't work at the moment. Any attempt to connect your account gives the error message “Failed to Connect With Nintendo Online Service Servers”.
It may be non-functional at present, but the fact that it's there at all bodes well for future connectivity. Are you looking forward to streaming your achievements to the masses? Let us know with a comment.

I hope this means a Twitch viewing app is also coming!
So does this mean that Switch will be receiving an official Twitch app to allow live streaming or that Rocket League will be handling this feature?
I wouldn't get excited about what you're thinking.

One of the features of the Spring update is adding support for Switch users to get Rocket League Fan Rewards items for watching RCLS tournaments on Twitch. Looks like they added the menu stuff for linking your account but the back end isn't quite ready yet.
I would love to stream whilst playing my Switch.
It’s a BIG update, this one. Nearly 2GB..!!
*wishes went for the physical version 😂
This just doesn’t sound like the work of Nintendo. No way would they support live streaming any of their games, 1st or 3rd party. They’ve barely figured out YouTube
So I’ll tip my hat to the Rocket League devs, they’ve gone above and beyond what was necessary to deliver a true port
Played Rocket League for a while today after not playing for 4 months. Updated to the latest version and had a bug that hid the UI. I couldn't see the score, my boost meter or even the menu after the match was over. Luckily it only lasted for one match.
@Late Ya I had the same bug in one match today also.
YO! That would be pretty sweet if this is widespread.
yeah after the update playing online had many issues
@The_Pixel_King I agree, I normally buy physical when possible. But I bought this on a whim on sale and I did not bother to look and see if there was a cartridge version. This is by far my largest download game and it seems to have gotten larger. It drives me nuts, some day I will pick up a physical copy and delete the digital copy.
I remember when they wre announcing Switch, they mentioned a streaming feature that will (or may? I don't remember) come to capture button in the future...
@Hikingguy it’s knocking on the door of 9GB now. I’m fine with that, I just wish larger sized Micro SD cards weren’t so prohibitively expensive. Would love a 400GB or 512GB and just have done with it!
@The_Pixel_King
Do you have some DLC? Mine is sitting at 7.2 GB.
But yeah, those bigger cards are still pricey and not worth the money per GB yet. At the moment, the sweet spot for price per GB is the 64 and 128 cards. But the 64 is just too small for any kind of future proofing and the 128 is still right on the edge. I would say the 128 GB microSD card would be fine for someone like me who primarily buys physical when I have the option. Then typically only buys digital when either the game is very cheap or not available physically but I still want it. But many times those games are smaller in size.
But for a person who buys all Digital, Nintendo has made it more difficult than necessary. I find it paradoxical that Nintendo is pushing digital so hard, especially with their rewards program yet they put a 32 GB storage in the device. It kind of seems counter intuitive on their part.
I would have thought that Nintendo would have thought a little more long term, put larger storage in the console so people have more room to buy digital games. I would assume they make a lot more money on games than consoles.
@Hikingguy If you’re version is still sitting at 7.2GB, then you don’t have the latest version installed, buddy. Mine was also 7.2GB prior to updating. And no, I don’t have any of the DLC.
[EDIT]: Do forgive me buddy, but it is 7.2GB after all (it was 6.8 prior to update). Mine showed 8.9GB yesterday, but now it’s changed to 7.2GB. Perhaps there was an automatic update?! 🤔
@The_Pixel_King No problem at all.
It is my largest download so every time I look at it, wish I would have done my DD prior to buying it. I believe prior to an update, the game was about 6 GB. And in my opinion, any update that adds 1 GB to a console with less than 32 GB of on board storage is still a big impact.
I wish there was a way to opt out of the extra stuff to reduce file size if I desire. I do not know if I will ever use the higher quality graphics. So most will just be wasted space.
