It was only a couple of weeks ago that we were treated to the shock announcement of a new WarioWare - WarioWare Gold, to be precise - and on 3DS no less. But if a slew of recent trademarks filed by Nintendo are anything to go by, a new Wario Land could well be in the works.

Nine trademarks were filed in total, including Dillon’s Dead-Heat Breakers, Luigi’s Mansion, Mario & Luigi, Metroid, Metroid Prime, Smash Bros.WarioWare, and a little title simply called 'Wario Land'. This is the second trademark for Wario Land in the last year, and with WarioWare Gold opting to hit 3DS this year, a new Wario title on Switch seems the likely next port of call.

But what do you guys make of all these trademarks? Is Nintendo just covering the bases, or are we really getting another round of Wario platforming? Share your thoughts below...
