Good Shepherd Entertainment has announced that Milanoir, a pixel-packed action game developed by Italian studio Italo Games, is expected to launch on Nintendo Switch in early 2018.
Inspired by the wave of Italian crime movies released in the 1970s, Milanoir tasks you with sneaking, choking and shooting your way through a violent criminal underworld, hunting for the man who framed you, surviving breathtaking vehicle chases, and taking out anyone who stands in your way.
The game has been designed with the unique capabilities of the Nintendo Switch in mind, allowing two players to explore this bloody and pixelated rendition of Milan together in a co-op campaign using a single Joy-Con each.
Will you be playing this one with your very own partner in crime?

interesting...but no
I have just one word for Milanoir – Bisogno!

Pass!
Looks really good, definitely interested.
This was actually announced as coming to Switch back in December and was supposed to arrive in January. The only difference here is the trailer is slightly different and it's release date is less certain.
Being italian myself I'm just too curious to see if this little game will do justice to the old Italian "poliziottesco"-style movies from the seventies. However, I don't think that people from all over the world will manage to contextualize all the references... I hope the shooting and the plot will be solid.
I love games that have a particular's nation flavor. Especially Italy's which is such a beautiful country.
Loved the description and premise, but the gameplay doesn't look that inviting to me. The shooting mechanic with the crosshairs just looks awful.
@RetroGamerAndrew I love those 70s Euro-Crime movies almost as much as I love giallo films. Actually, Italian cinema in general is pretty fantastic and this game looks suitably OTT mayhem.
@Lroy hey glad to hear that mate! I think "poliziottesco" is still a bit underrated in my country, but it's a very enjoyable (albeit niche) genre nonetheless, like the much more appreciated spaghetti western.
@RetroGamerAndrew Indeed, I'm a huge movie fan and adore the distinct filones of Italian 60s/70s cinema.
Nudity?!? What is it, a Golgo 13 energy refill scene, lol?!?
@Robotron2084 Absolutely, mega-fan of gialli. Even the most derivative and mediocre giallo has more visual/aural style and technical panache than its equivalent in the more popular 80s American slasher.
Don't care for the animation style. Oh well.
@Robotron2084 yeah, more an italian western fan tho, but 70's italian "poliziottesco" is something I like to go back to from time to time!
Hey, nice to see a game about Italy and made by Italians, I’ll keep an eye on that! It also remonds me a bit of Retro City Rampage and Hotline Miami, and that can’t be bad!
@RetroGamerAndrew un altro connazionale, evvai! 😄
I see you’re kinda new in here, so welcome to the NL community mate!
Well, it was a pleasure chatting a bit in Italian, but I guess we should go back to English for our future talks, after all we’re on a UK based site 😉
Hope you enjoy your stay!
@clvr absolutely. See ya around then! HF
@RetroGamerAndrew oh I guess you will see me around, I spent a couple of years more as a lurker but by now I’m a resident commenter ahahahahah
Have a nice day!
