2064: Read Only Memories Integral - Q1 2018

Classic adventure games feel right at home on Switch, so we can't wait to see the Kickstarter-funded cyberpunk world of 2064: Read Only Memories hit the platform in February. You'll be guiding a journalist-turned-detective and their sapient robot pal through the Blade Runner-esque streets of Neo-San Francisco. The Switch version will add the word 'Integral' into its title and bundle in lots of extras such as trailers, artwork, music and some new in-game content. A Limited Run physical release is also being considered.

Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night - 2018

Another success story from the world of crowdfunding, the spiritual step-brother to the classic days of Castlevania was actually bound for Wii U before the rise of Nintendo Switch saw development switch over to Ninty's hybrid machine. With influential Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi leading development, Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night promises a faithful trip back to the early days of Metroidvania, with heroine Miriam able to use her crystalline skin to absorb new powers and fashion armour. And with a title like that we're expecting an ocean of claret too.

Monster Boy And The Cursed Kingdom - 2018

Directly inspired by the acclaimed Master System action-adventure title Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap, Monster Boy And The Cursed Kingdom is all about a plucky young lad using the power to transform into a variety of animal forms to solve puzzles, explore myriad locations and defeat all manner of giant bosses. This cartoonish 2D adventure will boast six different animal guises, each with its own unique abilities, such as a snake's talent for climbing any surface and a frog's useful swimming skills.

Yoku’s Island Express - 2018

We never thought we'd be excited for a game all about posting letters, but then again when it looks as cute Yoku's Island Express you can hardly blame us. This vibrant little indie gem combines 2.5D platforming with pinball-like mechanics, where a gutsy little bug will attempt to deliver all manner of post across Mokumana Island, a hand-drawn open-world full of secrets, quests and sleeping gods. It's got a real Sonic Spinball vibe to it with added Metroidvania for good measure.

Crypt Of The NecroDancer - 2018

The dungeon-crawling roguelike genre isn't short of candidates these days, but the Crypt Of The NecroDancer aims to do things a little funkier by adding in a rhythm-game mechanic. It might sound like an unlikely combo, but then you realise the genius of moving around its ever-changing dungeon layouts to the beat of the Danny Baranowsky soundtrack, attacking enemies and dodging attacks like a fleet-footed adventurer. The Switch version will have an exclusive character, as well as support for local co-op play.
