Just in time for Halloween

It's almost Halloween, a time of year where lots of candy is consumed and people dress up terribly in the hope of scaring / amusing others. ]

If you're wisely choosing to stay indoors this year then you may wish to indulge in a spooky game, and our friends over at iRetrogamer have put together a video which highlights some of interactive entertainment's spookiest abodes.

While the video is quite light in Nintendo titles, it does showcase the iconic Luigi's Mansion - the perfect game to play at Halloween. Let us know if you have any happy memories of busting ghosts on your GameCube, or if you recall any of the other games mentioned in the clip.

The perfect game to play on Halloween is Ghost & Goblin NES because you get a unique flavour of "fear" each time you have to play it.

What about the Animal Crossing (GameCube) Halloween event? Speaking of which, since I only got AC:NL this year, it'll be my first Halloween event in that version of the game. Can't wait to see what it's like this time.

Luigi Mansion 3DS takes soooo.... long times to finish just for One Mission. And i can't Save during the Mission.

@Ardisan - Ha, totally agree. No game brought me more face melting rage, compounded by the fact that it was only one of a handful of carts I actually owned back in the day. I recently watched a play through just to see all the stages I could never reach, and the opening cinematic gave me goosebumps and activated my G&G PTSD.

Well, the things I'd do for a Luigi's Mansion 3 or Maximo 3 are borderline terrifying. I suppose that counts.

Now that we have Mario and Zelda, Luigi's Mansion is the game I want most of all. Whenever I dig my Gamecube out Luigi's Mansion is the first game I look for, just as I do with Mario64 for the N64 so I'm hoping for a sequel or at least the first 2 games on Switch

Zombies! (Ate My Neighbors) and/or Ghoul Patrol are my goto Halloween games. Even got the former working on my SNES Classic.

Would rather watch our boy Alex in a purely Nintendo focused one of these. If he wanted to wear a costume I’d be cool with that, though it’s not a deal-breaker for me.
