One of the games wthat we are really looking forward to on the Switch this year is of course Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which isn't all that far away now. Roll on 1st December.
The Nintendo UK Store has recently listed two different versions of the game for fans, along with a tempting limited edition Pro Controller. As always it's worth getting in early to secure these as they do appear to actually be quite limited in supply.
The "Fan Pack" includes a lovely A2 sized poster and a pin badge along with the game; it's not much of a price bump at £49.99. Of course hardcore Xenoblade fans will want to grab the "Collector's Edition", which bundles the game with a steelbook case, soundtrack CD and a 200 page art book for £79.99.
And what can we say about this Xenoblade Chronicles 2 themed Pro Controller? It is certainly quite eye-catching, but it might not appeal to everyone...

Of course if you are not bothered about all that extra gubbins you can pick up the no-thrills standard game from Amazon for less, with the usual small discount for Prime members.

The Collector's Edition is crazy expensive. The XCX Collector's Edition for Wii U was €60, this is €90.

Was hoping from the tagline you guys would be linking to sites, not just reposting from the other days news of Nintendo sticking it up at top price.
If I recall Amazon UK had it a lot cheaper for controller and LE a little while back. GAME has it at top price and probably will charge you for more than one item. Shopto don't seem to have it like a lot of online UK retailers.
Been feverishly checking my email since roughly 30 seconds after the direct announced the CE and the release date. Ive never pre ordered something so fast when I finally got the email the other day.

200 pages is a nice size art book, puts the dozen or so pages of the Metroid: Samus Returns artbook to shame

The price for the collector's edition is absurd, nearly double what Amazon are charging for the game itself.

From the nearly same article on Friday except that didn't have the word "Deals" in the front of the title.
The XCX Special Edition was $80 US and made a great Christmas gift for me. This one is going for $100 and Amazon no longer discounts collectors editions, meaning I can get the game for $48 or spend double for this. $52 for a metal case, CD and art book seems way too much, so I think I'm going to have to pass.
As for the controller, well I really like the look of it, but not sure a paint job is worth an extra $5, $70 already seems like a lot for a controller. If I can find it w/ some sort of discount Id' pick it up, but not full price. Still have to find out if Nitneod made Super Mario Odyssey fully usable w/ the Pro, I've read there's a lot of motion only stuff going on. I'm not even buying a Pro if I can't play Mario with it.
Maybe if Nintneod wasn't making me pay $20 for a case in the Switch Mario bundle I'd have more money to spend on more things.
@Jack_Goetz As I've previously said in other XC stories, no, Europe didn't get it. We got the cool steelbook.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE @Jack_Goetz In Europe we got a multisided poster that had map one side and art the other. We also got a smaller sized artbook.
So in my opinion we did get less in the X LE, but Chronicles 2 LE is still way overpriced. Especially when couple other retailers that were graced with Pre order stock sold it at £59.99-64.99.
Anyone know did the pro controller go up for sale in NA yet, i see it's unavailable unsure if that meant it never went up for sale or if it's already been sold out.
@rjejr I splurged on the Splatoon 2 pro controller not too long ago and honestly can say even at its price it was totally worth it. I play everything (that's supported) with it now even choosing a desktop mode setup over handheld.
I really hope Mario will be fine with it as hope to play it with the pro con on the big TV in our lounge.
As I said in the comments of the other article... double the price for those extras is just too much... I'd rather get another game instead.

I hope so too, it's really only this 1 section of this 1 article that has me worried that there's too much motion. I played the demo in Target on Friday w/ the Joycon attached to the Grip and the only way for Mario to make the throw where the cap spins around him in a circle is to have Mario run around in a circle first, there's no dedicated button for the circle throw. Having to run around in a circle first is annoying, and a waste of wear and tear on the thumbstick. I was hoping by release they would patch in a button combo, but since the game is out in only 10 days I'm getting worried.

Meh... that controller is horrid looking and the collectors edition is overpriced. The character design seems to be all over the place anyway - why would I want an art book of it.
Just care for the game on this one.
This is a game I desperately want to be excited for but just can't. I loved the first two games but something about this one just doesn't seem quite right. I'm not a huge fan of the more cartoony look and I really hate the main character's design: a 12-year old boy in a tin man costume. Something about it just seems off but I will withhold all judgement until the proper time.

On the bright side it would save me $70. Well unless they make XC2 only work well w/ the Pro. The original on Wii did not work well at all w/ the Wiimotes, I needed the Classic Pro, but at least that was only $20. Those are really the only 2 games I care about right now, the system is more for my kids than me.

The only deal I went for is 40% off Xenoblade Chronicles 3D (120 gold coins) since I missed a similar one the first time. Seeing as I brought that and there is soo many other games out/coming this holiday season, I'll just have to put it on my wishlist.
Against my better judgement, I pre-ordered both the controller and the collectors edition.
Pre-ordered the 'fan pack'. I was going to wait for reviews to drop, but who am I kidding? Worst this game is going to be is good, hopefully it's very, very akin it's predecessor.

The US version was better value I think. Not really fussed about steel books.

Preordered the controller and the regular game. The pro controller is very expensive here though, with tax it’s $113. I’m not sure I want to pay that but at least I can always change my mind.

I grabbed the C.E. from Very.co.uk as they had it for £69.99.
The controller is also £59.99.
The only caveat is that delivery is only free if you use Click & Collect.
@invictus4000 I'm in the same boat. Character designs are really letting me down this time around, especially that fox girl abomination that got revealed recently. Makes me somewhat worried about the artbool being included in the LE. I'm sure the environment and design will more than make up for it

If I didn’t have the pro controller already I’d get this one. I’m not sure if I’ll pick this up at launch, I still need to finish the first one but we’ll see I really like the cover art.
Depending on the Special Edition’s price here, I may get it. I love the art books and I am still salty I passed XCX’s special edition to save up for the FE Fates Special Edition.
But if my local distributor goes crazy with the prices, then I’ll stick with the regular version.
I’m hype for this game but the only ce I’m looking forward too is dB fighter z and I’m even having a hard time justifying that not to mention my wife would think I’m nuts putting up that Goku statue lolololzzzz
Absolutely want the pro controller too. Even though I don't need it at all. lol Getting Xenoblade day 1 too.
Love the late-80s coulour scheme of that Pro Controller. With Best Buy's Gamers Club discount, CE comes at about $85 USD, but the controller's not available for in-store pickup or the GCU discount. Wouldn't wanna suddenly get a charge if I can't make the scratch by the time it's due, y'know?
