The Switch doesn't have a Virtual Console of its own just yet, but that hasn't stopped Hamster from releasing a slew of Neo-Geo arcade titles on the system.
In the video above we take a look at all seven currently available titles including some shoot-em-ups, some fighting games, and... well, more fighting games.

Ah... Classic NeoGeo.
Hopefully Gamecube VC will be next someday.
Love shock troopers and KOF98
It would be cool if other arcade games came to the Switch, especially some of Yu Suzuki's games like Space Harrier and Out Run.
Keep 'em coming Hamster, keep 'em coming.
Im looking forward to a spanning selection of retro platform VC, whether they're sold under the official "VC" umbrella or not.
This is a great start. Love the options offered in game too. Good stuff.
With the likes of waku waku 7 on there I need a fight stick on switch...for reals!
Digging METAL SLUG 3, might pick up KOF98 as I am a big Capcom vs. SNK fan. Waiting patiently for METAL SLUG and FATAL FURY. Keep 'em coming!!!!
Oh... and SAMURAI SHOWDOWN of course!
Looking forward to getting some of these Neo Geo games, but please can we have the Technos and Data East coin-ops?
Played all of these. Good times. Good games. Got these all also on the original PlayStation. These were great on the arcades. All them 20p in the machines. Memories
I'm a big Nam '75 fan myself. My brother owned a Neo Geo back in the 16 bit days and I played the hell out of that game! The reviewer clearly doesn't know how to play it though, rolling makes you invincible for a second so if you see something that's going to kill you ROLL! I can beat the game without a single continue with a little practice.
Glad these are available for those interested, but I once got 30 neo geo games on PC for $10 from a humble bundle, so $8 a pop feels like highway robbery.
Not a big Neo Geo guy.
Got all the brawlers except King of Fighters 98. The only brawler that was remotely fun was Waku Waku 7. I just felt ripped off. I felt like i paid for the same game with slightly different looks. I will never toach old school brawlers again.
I cant seem to get the auto shoot function to work in Metal Slug 3.
NAM 1975 was ok.
But Shock Troopers was almost worth all of them together. I think its one of the first games since my SNES days which ill be playing through more than 5 times. Im just amazed how such an old game plays so good even nowadays. Feels ecstatic.
I really hope they can get Pulstar from the Neo Geo CD on the Switch; it's already on PC (yet I couldn't get it to work).
That game played and looked amazing!
My favourite is World heroes perfect. Metal Slug 3 is incredibly polished and all the alien and zombie stuff is very fun but it's too difficult and frustrating.
But I fear that this release could give less guarantees than the traditional Virtual console if we will begiven the right to mantain our purchases for the next consoles too.
For some reasons I feel that the regular Virtual console will be the most teliable purchases in this regard
Not a huge Neo Geo fan - but there are definitely titles I'll pick up. Samurai Showdown 1 or 2, Alpha Mission 2 and eventually the original Metal Slug.
Probably a few other games I'd love to get as well that I can't think of right now.
Lol is all fighting games. I'm just really interest in Metal Slug and will buy it soon. There was also Alpha whatever that look cool. All the others are a pass since I SUCK at fighting games.
Gimme Soccer Brawl!
Please?
Waku Waku 7 is my favorite so far
@Darkthany it was a humble bundle. Of course it's going to be more expensive without. Heck I got ove 150 dollars worth of wiiu 3ds indie titles a ways back for about ten through humble. It doesn't make them worth any less. Still cheaper than a movie.
I got Humble Bundle's NEOGEO bundle over a year ago and can play 23 games on pretty much any emulator, but it's nice to see people can play NEOGEO on the Switch now too.
so which NEO game for a 62 year old switch owner who also plays BF1 on XBOX...need something easy to pick up, play for awhile and put down....not a big street fighter guy though,,
@fastharryDOTcom Definitely Metal Slug then. If you've never played it you will be kicking yourself when you finally do.
Neo Geo games are some of my favorite games out there. I love SNK fighting games with KOF and Samurai Showdown being my favorites. I gotta admit though, a little disappointed they don't have online play. But I would still get them.
@fastharryDOTcom metal slug
I hope they can bring most of the library over! (some titles would probably not make it because of licensing issues) At one a week, it would take a little over 2 years. Keep those Hamsters running!
Release Samurai Shodown II and Blazing Star first, though!
@fastharryDOTcom Metal Slug 3 or Shock Troopers. It's a tossup for me.
@masterLEON thanks brother...metal slug DL'ing as we speak
@faint thanks faint....bought it.....
@LiberatedAnimal thanks..just bought it...
Anyone knows if Wind Jammers is coming ?
I hope Hamster fixes the input lag in Metal Slug 3. In its current state it's nearly unplayable.
Now the switch has Neo-geo games,Sega should take a look at this and release their Arcade games that were made on the M2 and M3 motherboards. Games like sega rally,scud Racer,fighting vipers and Daytona plus many others.. Also I would like to say I am looking forward to Neo-geo game Windjammers coming to my Vita soon. Should be great with all new online ranked matches for tournament league's.. I best get some practice first the French are great at this game,they have had online play communities for years now,they boast most of the best players in the world.. Can't wait
I wish they release a cartridge version with all the games. Maybe one day...
