Merry Switchmas everyone! Some things never change; we still have a Nintendo Download Update for North America. It has two games so, um, let's quit this intro while we're ahead shall we?

Missed the European Nintendo Download Update details? Don't write a morose diary entry bemoaning your fate just yet, the information you need is still right here.

Wii U Virtual Console

F-Zero X (Nintendo, $9.99) - Late last year this arrived in Europe and was rather iffy on Wii U, but thankfully a nasty analogue deadzone issue was largely fixed in an update. Hopefully that means day one retro racing fun for Wii U owners in North America - our own Anthony Dickens still maintains that this game is the best thing since sliced bread.

3DS eShop

Shift DX (Choice Publishing, $4.99) - This series, known for its key concept of being able to "shift" the playing field to a different angle and therefore tackle puzzles in an interesting way, has spawned many sequels across PC and IOS. This iteration includes all the levels from the first two games and 100 more stages besides, so there'll be plenty to tackle; we'll get stuck in for a review.

As always Nintendo of America wants you to check out the official sales and deals website for eShop discounts; confirmed offers this week include Rubik's Cube, Tadpole Treble and Buddy & Me: Dream Edition.

Do either of these options tempt you? Let us know what you plan to download in the comments and poll below.
