Intelligent Systems has pulled the plug on a proposed Crashmo / Fallblox sequel which was supposed to be coming to the Wii U, according to a report by Unseen 64 and Nintendo Life contributor Liam Robertson.
According to Robertson's sources, development on the game - known as Crashmo / Fallblox World - has been called to a halt to allow Intelligent Systems to shift resource over to ongoing Nintendo Switch projects.
The report has been backed up by Emily Rogers:

The series began life on the 3DS eShop with Pullblox and Fallblox before moving to the Wii U eShop in 2014 with Pullblox / Pushmo World.

I'd care more about this, but the Pushmo series as a whole has never really grabbed my interest (I had Pushmo for 3ds)
Was it the "unforeseen hardware limitations" again?
Well that's disappointing, I really liked Crashmo.
At least that means IS is going all in on the Switch.
...
That reminds me, whatever happened to Tank Troopers? Wasn't that supposed to come out this month?
@Not_Soos No, it was a shifting of resources to the Switch.
One of the most over rated eShop series imo.
A pity. Too bad it wasn't moved to Switch.
Loved the first game, got frustrated with the second, haven't got around to trying the rest yet. So whilst I'm mildly disappointed at a Wii U game getting canned, I won't be crying over this one.
However whatever happened to Mother 3 then, Emily Rogers...?!?
Well, at least a new generation of Ninty console owners will get to discover the series on the Switch. I'm guessing Pullblox World might be a launch title for the Switch's eShop since they could port that in an afternoon maybe?
@Mega_Yarn_Poochy Well of course IS is shifting resources to the Switch. They only make Nintendo games so they have no choice.
Those games were all very lame. I am a puzzle gamer too, but these were just so boring the first one would literally put me to sleep. Intelligent Systems certainly has better things to be doing then this lukewarm series in my opinion.
If that Nintendo Switch project is a Fire Emblem game, then they couldn't cancel Crashmo fast enough for me.
I have and love all three. If it still makes it to Switch I will be happy.
Oh and they owe us a Mallo amiibo.
@Not_Soos
I think it was the unforseen amount of non existent customers.
Not... suprising.
Advanced Wars for Switch please.
@Mega_Yarn_Poochy Tank Troopers is out in Japan and I think it comes to other regions in January or February
So Mother 3 then...
Taking with a grain of salt, but if true....NOOOOOO!
sees mother 3
YEEEEEEES!!! OH MY GOSH!!!
A true king of the "Look how cute I am! So cute grown men would be embarrassed to recommend me to their friends!" Genre
The fact that mother 3 never actually came out makes me wonder if Paper Mario was the only real leak.
@Nintendo_Ninja Maybe Mother 3 ALSO got moved over to the Switch...
Mother 3 is the phantom leak; journalists keep getting told about it by their sources, but it mysteriously hasn't surfaced. Nintendo probably has it all finished and localized sitting at HQ like Color Splash was, and it'll release Mother 3 for the Switch once the Virtual Console is at full steam.
@LegendOfPokemon If I were Nintendo when the Switch presentation airs in January Mother 3 would be the first game I announce for the Virtual Console. And if I had to guess I'd guess it was ready for Wii U last year, but withheld for just that purpose.
Well... let see on Switch presentation.
I'm really getting to feel like "Switch" is a more apt name than I initially though. The Wii U is having many of its games Switched over one by one!
I've never played Crashmo but I have Pushmo World on Wii U.I put a good few hours into it and enjoyed it but I'm not sure I want any more of it.The one puzzle game I do hope to see there at launch is Dr Mario. That should be a standard Eshop launch or even pre installed on the system.Just release the classic retro mode with online and none of the other rubbish modes and at a lower price than Dr Luigi was on Wii U.The online community in that game was great but it could have been so much bigger like on Wii if Nintendo didn't charge too much for it.
That's a shame. Good series.
I would rather IS finally work on another Advance Wars title. It's been nearly 9 years since Days of Ruin, now. That game was apparently really ahead of it's time, too. You could share your own levels online, and even play them or other maps online with friends and/or random strangers. Unlike a certain game known as Super Mario Maker 3DS...
And just... listen to the Days of Ruin soundtrack. Freakin' amazing for a DS game.
But I get it. It's a lot easier and cheaper to make games like Pushmo than another high quality Advance Wars title. In the end, quantity matters more to a business than quality...
So then... What's the deal with Mother 3 again?
Makes sense to "Switch" over (wink: wink:). As much as I like the Pushmo/Crashmo games, it feels like one too many with not enough variation on the current Nintendo systems.
Well that sucks.
Also, I wonder where in the world is Mother 3. They should've just released it in summer at E3.
Of course they did. We Wii U owners aren't allowed have anything nice. It was abandoned by third parties after 6 months and by Nintendo pretty much after 2 years. Just a trickling of games after that but some good ones too. We didn't get any Christmas games and God only knows if Zelda: BOTW will ever release on Wii U.
I love the blox/mo games, but we've got quite a few of them between 3DS and Wii U now, and it's not THAT disappointing that they've moved onto something new, unless it was really, REALLY close to completion. I'd love FE on Switch but not really sure that's what Nintendo would put them on to start with. I know the recent 3DS games have done better than ever before, but it's still the numbers of a fairly niche series, not really the sort of system selling title Nintendo probably want.
@PlywoodStick Pushmo is a great game series though. Besides Intelligent Systems already made another turn based strategy that was just as good as Advance Wars called Codename: S.T.E.A.M with substantial online capabilities.
Sorry but it's hard to take cynicism of "quality over quantity" from someone who's salivating over an established brand name, Advance Wars at the expense of two actually good new IP.
See you on Switch!
I really hope they dropped Crashmo to work on another Advance Wars game for the Switch!!! I love me some Advance Wars!!!
Well, to be honest, I haven't even gotten around to playing the first Wii U release yet.
But hopefully the game doesn't have to die, just move on to Switch. Pushmo is a cute franchise that deserves another lease of life.
crosses fingers
C'mon new Advance Wars on Switch.
I LOVED Pushmo; Crashmo.. not so much. Its difficulty was just way too obtuse.
No Crashmo sequel isn't that big a deal to me, but I'd love to see them expand on the building blocks set by Pushmo. Maybe by doing 360 degree levels, or levels progressed by playing mini-Pushmo challenges could be pretty neat.
@PlywoodStick
I always thought they'd make an Advance Wars 3D for 3DS in the vein of Fire Emblem Awakening. Perfect engine to use for it already done and everything.
But, it never came. And tbh, I'm not complaining about it. I'd much rather see more FE than another Advance Wars, although I'd be happy with a new AW on Switch... if we get one.
I hate fallblox, I'd buy a new pullblox game but a new fallblox game I'd pass on.
What game?
Aww. I'm always up for some new Pushmo. I hope it's just being moved to the Switch.
