MCM London rolled around again for its biannual event, and with it the Nintendo presence was strong. Ranging from games to play at the official Nintendo stand, retro game competitions with Smash Bros. and Mario Kart, stands selling lots of Nintendo merchandise and a number of awesome Nintendo cosplays, there was plenty to admire.
Whilst the official Nintendo stand was smaller this year, only showcasing the 3DS and Monster Hunter Generations, there was still a lot to see and do for Nintendo fans. The cosplays ranged from lots of amazing costumes from the Legend of Zelda games, through to fantastic Star Fox and Smash Bros. groups.
Below is a gallery of some of the best cosplays and Nintendo related things that we saw at the event:

That Tingle costume is very creepy. The Shiek and Skull Kid costumes were the best. Actually, they were all really good costumes, though the Mii Fighter had very little to do.
Gosh...so many costumes.
Hey, I saw a male Wii Fit trainer.
That Tingle... a little TOO good. Heck, "Jack Sweet" makes sense as their name even. The Skull Kid cosplay is really good as well.
The Zamus cosplayer is throwing me off hard- it's really just her body shape. The long torso and short legs kinda don't work for that character- not knocking her efforts, just making an observation.
Some really good stuff, some really eh stuff. It's hard, certainly, but some pulled it off much better than others.
I'm surprised some people aren't trying to be more covered, considering how overcast it loo- what this is the UK. That's what counts as sunshine there, isn't it? /s
That Skull Kid is amazing, definitely best in show. Shiek is second, and ZS Samus is third, I think. Tingle gets a special... "Oh God" award. Everyone else is just... Eh, it's not easy to make a good cosplay.
Haha! Zero Suit Samus here ^-^ It was great meeting you that day. I have a lot to work on for my Samus... including my leg length😂 But overall such a great weekend. These cosplays are ace ❤️
@CrazedCavalier Not every cosplay has to be 100% accurate to the picture lmao
The Samus cosplay is great regardless, and it's fun to dress up as your favourite video game characters ^_^
You don't have to be a professional in order to enjoy cosplay lol
that wii fit trainer guy deserves a monochromatic award for excellence. also, i truly appreciate a well done zero suit samus. even badly done ones, really.
Some great costumes in there, but Mario & Luigi never seem to translate to cosplay very well it seems.
Male Wii Trainer, genius
@CrazedCavalier Yes, it certainly is in. It's held at the eXcell centre in London.
I haven't been for a couple of years, simply because it's way too busy for my liking.
I'm volunteering in a charity shop, occasionaly we get something to do with comics, video games, dr who, or science fiction. I've brought up McM with people who buy these bits, and I end up telling them where it is. Some of them actually came back to tell me how much fun they've had going there.
MCM was ridiculously busy and poorly run, but as usual, everyone's costumes were on point. Good job. MCM itself needs to improve its organizational skills before I'll consider going again
I feel bad for the guy dressed as Mii Fighter, the most bland Smash costume design you could possibly have.
Skull kid and the Wario one, for me. Pretty great stuff all round though.
My favorites were the Skull Kid, Blastoise and Medli cosplays.
I really like how those Peppy Hare and Falco Lombardi masks came out. With a little wider head, Fox McCloud could be on the right track.
Also, yes, Medli! Great idea and awesome execution.
That Wii Fit Trainer guy is looking way better than I figured a cosplay of that would look! That makeup is unreal. Also, props for Tingle. He kinda looks like Luigi to Tingle's Mario but eh. He's dressed as Tingle; I'll give him props.
Oh, and those Star Fox costumes are next level.
I think I saw a couple of those costumes while I was there on the Friday (it may have just been very similar ones)... but my favourite was a couple dressed as Mario and Peach who'd dressed their baby up as Toad and decorated the stroller to look like a Mario Kart go-kart.
I was going around on Sunday as Phoenix Wright, was there with another Phoenix, Mia, Klavier and at one point an Edgeworth. The other two days I was there doing Game of Thrones characters (Oberyn and Stannis)
Anyone know how to add images here directly from Instagram? I have a few I'd like to share and they don't seem to work here!
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I drew the short straw with the Mii Fighter. Limited time meant I couldn't create the costume I wanted. Just bought all the stuff instead.
@Not_Soos I use my Mii in Smash, although he's dressed up in something else. Limited time meant I couldn't make what I wanted to, so I just went with it. People did have a hard time trying to work out who I was though, which kinda ruined it for me.
Edit: I should probably clarify that I'm the guy dressed as the Mii Fighter.
