Still kicking

Though the online community for Splatoon is still going strong, it's safe to say that the game has passed its prime. It got its last hurrah with the release of the new Callie and Marie amiibo this summer, and now that Splatfests are over, it seems that Nintendo has moved on (hopefully to make the sequel). That being said, the game is still receiving minor patches here and there, the latest of which is now available.

Version 2.12 is required if you'd like to continue playing the game online, and it doesn't seem to change much. The update squashes a bug that allowed players to place sprinklers inside the Tower in Tower Control, and it also fixed an issue where players could move inside certain platforms on Kelp Dome. All in all, not a whole lot to see here, but it's nice that Nintendo is still paying attention to fixing little problems like these.

What do you think? Will Splatoon receive a second wind at some point, or will Nintendo let it wind down? What would you like to see in the sequel? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
