The Pokémon Company is - as it often does with a new generation and games on the way - going into promotional overdrive. That's no bad thing, as it often means plenty of goodies and extras to dive into as the hype train picks up speed.

Now we have 'Pokémon Generations', a series of animated shorts that'll delve into history and lore through the 20 years we've had of Pokémon. Every week there'll be short episodes to watch on YouTube.

The new animated series Pokémon Generations revisits each generation of the Pokémon video game series to shed new light on some timeless moments. From the earliest days in the Kanto region to the splendor of the Kalos region, go behind the scenes and witness Pokémon history with new eyes! These bite-sized adventures, about 3 to 5 minutes long, will be released every week through December 23, 2016.

As an extra bonus, Pokémon Origins Episode One: Red has now been posted on YouTube. As the name suggests this is focused on the first generation, and all four episodes are now available on Pokémon TV.
