About a month ago, we reported on the news that a new, mainstream Professor Layton game would be revealed on 27th July. Ever since, nothing else has surfaced surrounding the future title, but with Level-5's annual Vision event just days away, some new information has recently come to light.
The company recently filed some trademarks for Europe that suggest some things we could have to look forward to at this year's event. They are as follows:
- Lady Layton
- Inazuma Eleven Ares
- Megaton Musashi
- Otome Hero
- Yo-Kai Daijiten
- Yo-Kai Watch Geraporhythm
Most notably, these include a couple Yo-Kai games, a new Inazuma Eleven, and something called "Lady Layton". Naturally, trademark filings are a far cry from a game announcement, but it'll be interesting to see what the company has to announce this year.

Lady Layton? Did he procreate and have a daughter? Imagine how it went with how he usually goes about doing things.

"Lady Layton"? Could that be about Alfendi's mother? Either way, more Layton games is good news.
@Piersen well, as Layton Brothers has shown us, he has at least one son. Or two sons, depends on how you count.
maybe before releasing lady layton 3ds/nx, they can release the old ds layton games done up for 3ds like capcom did for phoenix wright.
@Jamotello Not that likely after the messy way they rereleased the first Inazuma Eleven, I think.
This reminds me of a puzzle...ing question in why people haven't seen Eternal Diva yet. Seriously, its a great movie. It's even on Youtube of all things!

Interesting. I believe Ares is part of the Zeus team and has as of present never been in any real big role of significance so it is interesting to see a trademark filed for him. Also Megaton Musashi is probably Megaton Head and the Musashi spirit summon slapped together(yes i know my inazuma eleven stuff).
Over here in Europe we still haven't seen the final instalment of the Inazuma Eleven GO series (released in Japan 3-years ago).
I feel bad saying that though because I know you guys in the US are still a few versions behind. My tip for you is to pick-up the first few that were released in Europe on the region free DS.

Lady Layton?! Wonder who that will be (maybe Hershels grandma?).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Level-5 told us a few times in the past that the 2 trilogies ended Hershels' Story, so, from now on, they would go with a new character in the mix, no?
I just hope she is as charming as THE Professor Layton, then I will have no problems

I'm guessing that Lady Layton is either dear Hershel's daughter or sister, though I suppose her being his wife or some other relative wouldn't be out of the question.
Those Yo-Kai Watch trademarks are also interesting. We'll see what the future brings.
Although I'll certainly miss the good Professor, I can't go on without another Layton game. Switching protagonists is a small price to pay for more Layton masterpieces, in my opinion.
