As part of its E3 announcements earlier this week Nintendo kicked off a Miitomo x The Legend of Zelda social media event, in which hitting a set number of retweets rewards us with Link wigs for the smartphone app.
As the original target (20,000) was swatted aside rather quickly, Nintendo has added a black Pixel Link T-Shirt to the mix, which would sure look good on the world's Mii characters.
The promotion isn't far off hitting the 40,000 retweet target for this extra goodie, having already passed 35,000 at the time of publication. It's the tweets below that need to be shared if you want to pitch in.

Will we get the E3 Zelda U demo on the eShop if it reaches 100,000?
Meh, I hardly use miitomo anymore. But I guess this is good for the few people who still use it. I can't wait for the fire emblem app though.
Nice
@Thegentleman You get a like just for that original Pikachu aka the real non-diet Pikachu.
I saw the shirt in the thumbnail and once again got excited. Then I realized it's Miitomo stuff again >.>
@AyeHaley thanks!(I like round pikachu because hes so adorable! )
@gardevoir7 me too
Everyone on the internet is enraged at how pointless and insulting this is. They are all calling it a pile of disgusting garbage. I wonder if they'll give this little scheme a chance or not. Even some of the worst ideas in history eventually become forgotten, which you can say is a positive.
What a croc.....
Need that shirt.
So I wonder if miitomo will be integrated with NX and future software in such a way that your outfits in Miitomo can transfer to in-game miis. I'd love that.
This promotion is great. It is drumming up awareness of new Zelda reveal next week and now reminder of original Zelda. What's the fuss about? I don't see the problem.
@Li_Bae @aaronsullivan I'm guessing a lot of the disappointment is simply that My Nintendo hasn't turned out to be as "good" as the previous reward scheme, Club Nintendo. There are no physical rewards, no points for physical games, Miitomo isn't even out worldwide... The cost of delivery alone must have been prohibitive for the physical rewards, so it has all likely been dropped for economy. Even though there are offerings in the rewards, they just can't match what was there before. Without the rewards in place, there is little incentive for many to stick with Miitomo. I actually like it quite a bit, but many just won't see the point. Now, a promotion offering a really decent game for say 3000 platinum points/coins might see more affection towards the whole thing.
Why do we never get Miitomo costumes that actually look like the respective game's hero? A Zelda 8bit shirt and a green cap, that's all we get? Why can't we make our Miis look like Link or like an Inkling instead of just putting some clothes on them?
How about no. I'd rather use my points on actual downloadable content than put something into Miitomo. Miitomo's fine on its own with the insane lack of censorship. The guys from the Australian Streepass group have put up some insanely funny stuff there, so I think it works on its own without extra costumes.
But as for the animated shorts that came out in Japan? THAT I can get behind.
Looks like it hit 40k. Cool.

Who cares about some tweet promotion promoting Nintendo .. how about Nintendo starts tweeting back to their clients about when they will actually start with some real rewards. What a joke, and now its becoming a running gag ... tune in next time, for "Like" on Facebook for a pair of digital socks.
Mixing the MiiTomo app makes this new club Nintendo much to complicated than it needs to be. Miitomo was fun for about 2 hours
