SteamWorld Heist Dated for PS4 and Vita, Wii U Version Still "In the Works"

I can see the Wii U version taking longer so they can properly use the GamePad, but this looks really good. Probably won't pick this up straight away but it is on my radar.

It may look as nice as the PS4 version, but will it run as well? Because this game has performance differences between New and Old 3DS models, even. Hmmmmm.

Oh right, Nitnod isn't talking about NX. Meanwhile games are being announced ahead of E3 - DBXV 2 just got announced for this year 2016 on PS4, X1 and PC - but Nintendo will spend all of E3 talking up 2 year old Zelda U on Wii U.

I understand Ntnedo may have reasons for not talking about NX at E3, but every new multiplatform game that gets announced for PS4 and X1, whether it's AAA or indie, we'll just be left wondering whether it's coming to NX or not. Why would any company want to work on a game on a console that Nintendo won't let them talk about?

And that's why I was really expecting an NX reveal before E3, so E3 can be about NX games. Not just Nitnedo NX games, but all NX games. NX is supposedly launching in March 2017, so this is the only E3 available to show those early games off. But who needs games, right, we can all just buy NX for Zelda NX, after we finish playing it on Wii U.

Can't wait to play this on my Wii U! I really enjoyed the 3DS version but that screen and system is too small......bring on the Big Screen HDTV version!

@rjejr nope no nx, that's why we get news like 'nintendo plans on making movies!' in order to keep the name in the public eye. that and rumors, we are going to get MONTHS of, until the big reveal whenever that may be.

This game and these devs are great... I hope it sells really well on all systems... I would love to try it in HD on my WiiU, but no way would I pay another $20... hopefully there is a steep discount for WiiU owners that already have the game on 3DS.

The game would probably play very well with gyro control aiming, so I wonder if they will incorporate that into the Gamepad?

I don't see any reason the WiiU wouldn't be able to handle 1080/60 for a game like this... the differences between the New and old 3DS performance have no bearing on the WiiU performance.

Based on the limited information I have heard about the NX, it seems like it will be very easy to port the game to the NX using the PS4 or PC code.. and I'm confident that Image & Form will do so.

I'll get this eventually. I buy most of if not all of the really good indie games and this will be amongst that category. The graphics look nice and clean.

Nintendo is like the kid who just isnt' tall enough to go on the ride at the theme park. Come back later when you are older and we'll let you on.

If I waited this long without playing the 3ds version, waiting for the Wii U version to come out, I can definitely wait longer. Just as long as I know it's still being made for it.

@C-Olimar Went back and re-read my post, and while I didn't mention this game by name - the title is too long to type - I did address it. It's 1 of many games people will be wondering whether it's coming to NX or not. Over the next 5 weeks there will be many new games announced, or ports of old games, or remakes and remasters of even older games, and as long as Nitnedo keeps a silent embargo on the NX we will all be left wondering whether or not those newly announced games will becoming to the NX or not, which, by the way, Ntinod said is launching next March, so they've lost the ability to say things like "we don't comment on rumours and speculation". So I do believe my post was on topic.

If you want to see me go off topic you should read my posts on things like the DC Legends of Tomorrow tv show and the presidential election, now those are off topic, there's just no defending those.

Funny you should mention the forums though, I was laying in bed last night thinking about starting a forum titled - "Why do you think the NX will sell?" - b/c honestly, the more I think about it, the less I think it will sell any better than Wii U. Well the home console version, handheld will sell well enough - Pokemon, MH, YW. I think I had that in my head still when I wrote my earlier rant.

Now this post is getting way off topic. Tends to happen a lot when I reply to people who accuse me of being off topic in an earlier post.

If NX releases on March because of its games and games get delayed all the time, you think NX could be delayed too?

Also, we need games for Wii U right now, so this shouldnt have to go to NX. PS4 is enough, we dont need another port station

I have this on my 3DS and it is far and away my most played game (112 hours and counting!)
It has possibly the most replay value of any game I have ever owned, and at €15, that is amazing value for money.
However, I could only see me buying it on WiiU if it was discounted or had new DLC. The portable aspect is part of the reason I've played it so much.

It kind of makes sense that Ntinod would want to be the first game dev to announce new games for it's hardware, but as its already announced Zelda NX I agree it needs to loosen up regarding other companies games.

Of course maybe it just doesn't want the invited scrutiny of all the people talking about all the games NX won't get before it even gets announced, like DBZ XV2? Once 1 company says - "this is coming to NX" - then any new game that doesn't say that will look bad. And since I think NX is a first party console, or consoles, first and foremost, the only 3rd party support may be indies and kid/family games. Though I'm still surprised Wii U didn't get Hasbro Family Fun Pack last Oct, so NX won't even get all of those. I think Nintendo just wants to get out in front of it, in it's own sweet fanbase killing time.

@sinalefa Well I think it's better if NX has some games other than a port of Zelda U than no games at all. And right now we know NX is launching in March but the only game we do know about it s port of Zelda U. So the sooner they start talking about other games, the sooner people can start talking about buying it. B/c right now NX is nothing more than a Zelda port playing paperweight.

And with no NX at E3, and all of the new games announced between now and E3, NX looks like a worse and worse investment with each passing day. Wii U undersold the Gamecube, now it's as if they are trying to see if NX can undersell the Virtual Boy.

@Captain_Gonru Coordinated timing of messaging helps facilitate the delivery of the marketing plan. You'd want to keep NX as a conversation topic not just through the summer months - you'd want to have those conversations grow (and hopefully become more positive) as you near the launch date.

Nintendo doesn't have the same marketing budget and muscle Sony and Microsoft does so it seems like they're consolidating efforts.

@rjejr Since we're already way off topic here, I'll weigh in and say I agree with you that the NX will sell about the same or maybe even fewer units than the Wii U. The company's reputation is down the drain and it's gonna take a big effort to resurrect it. At this time, I don't see Nintendo doing anything to repair their image. I guess time will tell.

I did have a thought this morning that Ntinedo could launch a branded tablet for kids that works with the NX controller like a Nvidia Shield. That gives them some options, and could keep the NX price down. Price disparity is the biggest reason Wii sold so well - $250 w/ Sports vs $500 for Xbox 360 and $600 for PS3 - and neither of those systems came bundled w/ a game. Easy decision. Why is Wii U $299 w/ it's current line-up while the other 2 are $349 w/ Witcher 3, Fallout 4 and all the rest?

So I do think if Ntinedo can get some cheaper hardware out there, and let people play handheld games on tv and vice versa, they have a chance. An admittedly slim chance, but I'm still hoping for some reason to keep me and my kids playing Nitneod games.

Personally, I'll be picking up the NX the day Pikmin 4 or Spla2oon launch - and since Pikmin is said to be nearing completion, I guess it will be a launch title - though I think there's a chance it could be a cheaply-made Wii U title using Pikmin 3's engine and assets.

How they can have a game nearly done 9 months ago but not shown us it yet, is one the the many things I've hated about Ntineod lately. I mean it's obviously coming to NX, but Wii U is sort of in need of games, so they shouldn't leave us wondering w/ "we have a game you all want that's done" but we won't tell you about it. The only bright side is he called it "4" which I'm pretty sure means it won't be mobile. could be handheld, but that's ok.

As for Ntinedo's "We only show games that are coming out soon", they already said Zelda U won't be out until March 2017, before they deleted March, so that's at least still 9 months out.
