Nintendo is airing a special animated short to commemorate the launch of Star Fox Zero this week.
Produced in collaboration with Shigeru Miyamoto, Production I.G. and WIT Studio, Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins will be broadcast on April 20th at 3PM PT / 11PM BST. It will be immediately followed by a special Nintendo Treehouse session showcasing Star Fox Zero and its companion release, Star Fox Guard.
You'll be able to watch the short film and the Treehouse event here. We'll be live-streaming the film with a blog and chat here on Nintendo Life, too.

@MysteryAozz Sir, you just made my day.
Does anyone know how long it is? Like is it a short film or is it like 30 or so minutes?
This looks pretty good to be honest. I love the soft, watercolor'esque style, esp. for Fox, Slippy and so on, as shown. Too bad it's only going to be short, as there is certainly potential here for a ~20mins animated TV show. My inner child would like approve ...
Nice to see they're giving the Wii U a decent PR send off before any official talk of the NX going forward. All other Wii U games won't get the attention because the NX will be their priority.
It was a nice Spring for me with Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, Mutant Mudds Super Challenge, Shantae: Risky's Revenge - Director's Cut, Pokkén Tournament and hopefully Star Fox Zero / Guard.
Very nice. I would love a series of this. But Nintendo has other things to do. Sigh, in a way, the desire to be animated from the 80s was before it's time, when nobody in animation gave two craps about games.
Cool but I still remain skeptical of this game. Its content, length, controls and no online multiplayer all bug me and yet I'm on the verge of buying the First Print Edition.
This looks amazing!
A childhood dream come true!
That short looks beautiful! I'll have to remember to watch this broadcast; certainly don't want to miss it.
production i.g.!!!animation legends.
It's so beautiful, I really wish they use this art style in a future Star Fox game.
This looks great!
And obviously I'm looking forward to a Treehouse presentation on the 10th anniversary of Mother 3.
(I know, I know, I shouldn't do this to myself)
Is Star Fox Zero a remake of Star Fox 64 which is a remake of Star Fox?
Nice. I wouldn't mind seeing more short Nintendo animations. I still enjoy watching those Pikmin shorts once in a while.
I will have to catch it on a replay unfortunately, I will be on the road that day.
@Xaessya apparently there is only a single story to be told with Star Fox because they are stuck in an infinite time loop. But then the few attempts they have made to move forward have been not well received.
I'll watch it for SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NINTENDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GIMME ANIMATED MARIO SHORTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love that artwork.
Loved the animation teaser!
I'm no anime fan, but this looks pretty cool.
Looks amazing!
Welp, that's it I'm buying Star Fox Zero
THE GAME SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS!!!!!
Star Fox should lend itself to good anime. Get on that Nintendo.
The character models are a bit off compared to the surroundings, but other then that it looks pretty cool!
Yeah, a game looking like that would rock! I'm looking forward to seeing this.
@Socar
I'm... a bit more excited for the series than the game... >_>
