See ya later!

Telltale Games has confirmed that the first episode of Minecraft: Story Mode will launch on the Wii U eShop this week in North America and Europe - Thursday 21st January, to be exact.

The Order of the Stone will cost $4.99, and additional episodes are set to arrive "in the coming weeks". A season pass option will cost $19.99 and allow access to episode one and the remaining 4 episodes as they become available for download. The game will showcase off-TV play and screen mirroring, as well as touch-screen controls.

The wording in the press release is slightly odd, but seems to our eye to say this release is coming to both North America and Europe this week:

Minecraft: Story Mode - A Telltale Games Series will be coming to Nintendo's Wii U console on January 21st with the first episode, 'The Order of the Stone,' available in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U in North America and Europe for $4.99 or equivalent.

This wasn't listed in the Nintendo Download Update details for Europe today, but it seems to be coming to the region nevertheless.

Here's what Steve Singer, VP of Publisher & Developer Relations at Nintendo of America, had to say about the news:

Telltale Games is synonymous with quality gaming and compelling content. We are thrilled that Nintendo fans will have the opportunity to experience this first-hand with the debut of 'Minecraft: Story Mode' on Wii U.

Kevin Bruner, CEO and Co-Founder of Telltale Games, was equally pleased:

Working with Nintendo, we're tremendously excited to be bringing our unique style of storytelling to Wii U for the first time, and we couldn't be happier to be kicking things off with a series like 'Minecraft: Story Mode' that allows players of all ages to craft their own adventure across the Minecraft universe.

So there you have it. Are you planning to pick this up on Wii U?
