Minecraft: Story Mode Hits The Wii U eShop This Week

There are several Telltale series that I'd likely get on the Wii U, even if my limited experience with them have been mixed, but Minecraft juat doesn't interest me at all in this regard. I do hope it succeeds.

I've ben following TellTale ever since the Bone games, which got canceled after the second of nine episodes, to my great dismay.

This particular series though, I have not been keeping on top of, so I'm looking forward to a possible review, to see if this is something to get.

No, I am not interested in anything Minecraft don't care for it at all, but if Telltale wanted to bring over tales from the borderlands, the wolf among us, back to the future the game, game of thrones, and the new Batman game I would purchase everyone of them for my wii u console day one. The reason I didn't mention the walk dead season 1 and season 2 is because I already own them elsewhere.

Had not the proper time to play the regular one because of Mira. Looking forward to your review to know if I dip in or just wait for the whole boxed thing to come out ... this is till going to get a full box released on Wii U, right?

Got the first episode on Android for 7p and thought it was OK. Better than a lot of other games but not Telltale's best. 'Wolf among us' is my favourite but I doubt that will ever make it to the wiiu , however I may pick this up if it would mean that they may port some of their other games over. I think Strongbad deserves a rerelease. I have it on WiiWare but I would love to see it updated with the gamepad.

I don't want to play Minecraft but this is so different that it has my interest. Seen my kids playing this a bit and looks like fun!

Apparently sales of Minecraft: Wii U Edition have been brisk, as I doubt we would otherwise be seeing this also released on Wii U. As with Minecraft, I don't have any interest in the game, but I'm happy to see a third-party game that other systems offer being ported over to Wii U, unlike so many others.

I picked this up on the PS4 with the whole game episodes 1 through 5 playable now. Therefor I won't be picking it up on Wii U anytime soon. If it gets a physical release I may pick it up on sale at some point. The game itself is pretty fun and plays like other Telltale games as a choose your own adventure with some story elements being optional. The characters are great including the lead character, Jesse played by Payton Oswalt.

@Tsurii Screen mirroring is what you would assume, both screens being the same. This game would benefit from on screen text selection, but aside from that screen mirroring isn't a bad thing here.

It's the actual game of Minecraft on Wii U that would hugely benefit from the second screen for inventory management and it's exclusion just seems like a huge wasted opportunity.

Not at all interested in this series, although I rather like the stories that TellTale games tend to provide. Wolf Among Us, or Game of Thrones, or even the rumored Walking Dead ports would all be interesting though.

That said, TellTale games are also notorious for running extremely poorly, regardless of what system they are on. Hopefully people don't have high expectations for a late port to the least powerful home console.

TellTale games are awesome will definitely be getting the Minecraft story mode for sure.

Wasn't the Walking Dead game supposed to come to Wii U?

My daughter and I have this game on PS3. We bought the physical copy for $20 to get the seasonal pass. It's a pretty fun game and it's sad to see people disregard it for it's involvement with Minecraft. The characters and story are excellent. My daughter just loves anything Minecraft related and I have fun playing it with her. We already have Minecraft itself on PC, iPad, and had it on Xbox 360 before we sold it but that was only to justify buying it for the Wii U which will be pretty soon. Now that Story Mode is on Wii U as well I might just have to buy it in support of the franchise actually making it's way over to Nintendo. I'm sure my daughter wouldn't mind Minecraft and Nintendo are two of her favorite things.

Love TT games so even though I have never played a Minecraft game I will pick this up.

Anyone know if this is set for a physical release? If so I will just wait as I would rather have that than a digital version.

Good thing the events unfolded as such. It's more a matter of principle than anything else, but the fact the spinoff could reach the WiiU before the main Minecraft game (or, as we thought, instead of the main Minecraft game) would have been an enormous slap in the face of us Nintendo gamers.

Besides, the role of "series that only gives Nintendo gamers spinoffs instead of mainline entries" is already taken by Kingdom Hearts. Where is our Kingdom Hearts II 3D, Square-Enix?

Played the first episode for 10 ¢ents, was pretty fun but horribly clichéd.

I wish they'd do a Jurassic World game! The first one looked really good.

I'll get this for the kids. How many players are supported?

It's a Telltale game, so... imagine it as a book. Potentially anyone could play at once in the absolute meaning of the word "play", but they're so narrative-driven that multiplayer isn't even a conceivable option.

I'll consider this if they release a retail version like they have on other platforms.

maybe telltale will make nintendo-specific adventure games if this succeeds. maybe nintendo will make adventure games themselves if this succeeds.

I am glad Microsoft is supporting the Wii U.

I was going to get this on XBOX One last year but when I heard it was coming out on Wii U, I decided to wait to buy it on the U since is my primary console. I can't wait for this Thursday!

Pretty sure screen mirroring is just the same as off TV play I'm confused why it was highlighted as a feature. Anyway my little brother will want this so I'll be sure to get him it!

Comments here are typical of Nintendo-users and why Nintendo is "cursed". Everyone complain about lack of third-party support, adult games, AAA-titles or whatever. Yet when games arrive once in a while, everyone starts nit-picking and finding their reasons why they won't buy this particular title.

Just face it guys, if you want developers to support your system, you gotta support the developers that do!
