Just this week Capcom announced that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate has passed four million sales globally, with this entry also being the first of the series to sell more than one million copies across Europe and North America. It's been a breakthrough title for the IP, in other words.
To celebrate it's now been confirmed that 3DS owners in Europe will get the "Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Palicoes 4 Ever" HOME Theme for free as long as they download it between 23rd and 30th October. It's been on sale for a while, but is a nice freebie for those that haven't taken the plunge.
Unfortunately this is only in Europe, though hopefully an equivalent promotion will come for North America.

Just kidding, the same theme will probably arrive a little bit later down the line on the US Theme Shop!
That works out great for me. I love Monster Hunter, but don't have this theme yet. Those sales figures are great. Hopefully that'll encourage Capcom to keep releasing Monster Hunter games in the West.

Nah, NA has had like 2 free MH4U themes. I would still like to get my hands on an AOT:Humanity in chains theme. No interest In the game, but the theme is cool!

Absolutely amazing game and it deserves every bit of succes that it has received. I hope we get a similar promotion over here since I could definitely use another Monster Hunter theme for my 3DS!
The breakthrough success of MH4U and Fire Emblem on the 3DS shows that western 3DS gamers have excellent taste, and will buy games because they are good, even when they are not tied to big-selling IPs.
A cool theme for sure. Wish they'd do more serious, monster related ones rather than the cutsie stuff. How cool would a Rathalos theme be? Or any other monster for that matter.
On the subject, MH4U is my favorite 3DS game. Cheers to its success!
Yeah, the game is awesome, probably best original 3DS game along with Fire Emblem Awakening (Ocarina and Majora's are both remakes). I'm happy for Capcom.
