Japan has a wider selection of 3DS themes then the west - that much is a given. However, the gulf between the haves and have-nots is getting a little irksome now - especially as Sega has just released two more awesome themes for Japanese fans to download.

The Dreamcast and SG-1000 themes cost 200 Yen a piece and join the other "hardware" themes currently available: Mega Drive, Master System, Astro City arcade, Saturn, Game Gear and Sega Mark III. The Dreamcast was Sega's final home console and launched in Japan in 1998, while 1983's SG-1000 was the precursor to the 8-bit Master System, and exclusive to Japan.

There's still no word on whether or not we'll be seeing these themes in the west, but our fingers are firmly crossed. While you sit in a darkened room cursing at the lack of Sega themes on your handheld console, why not watch the video recorded which shows the Mega Drive and arcade themes in action?
