This year sees Nintendo and GungHo Online Entertainment partnering to create the quirky Super Mario Bros. and Puzzle and Dragons mash up - creatively called Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition. The latest edition of the franchise arrives in Japan on April 29th for 4,000 yen, and will support both StreetPass and local multiplayer functionality.

Puzzle Dragons Stylus

If you are one for a freebie, then check out the pre-order bonus above, an original stylus shown on Nintendo's Japanese Twitter account. There has also been an announcement introducing an array of early purchase bonuses, including:

  • Tamadra 3DS theme code
  • A special ticket to claim monsters in the arcade game Puzzle & Dragons Z Tamer Battle V2
  • Original promo card for the Puzzle & Dragons trading card game

Unfortunately these pre-order and early bonuses have only been announced for Japan, but as the game is also coming to the West in a dual-game bundle, we're hopeful that we'll receive the same goodies - or at least equivalents - when pre-order incentives are announced. For a while we'll only be able to imagine the pre-order bonuses that Nintendo and GungHo will be lining up for us.

Puzzle and Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition (bundled with Puzzle & Dragons Z) will be released in Europe and North America on May 15th; let us know if you're excited about it, and whether you'd pre-order for a snappy stylus bonus.
