The Japanese Nintendo YouTube channel is among our favourites, partly because adverts posted there are often - in this writer's humble opinion - more entertaining than their Western equivalents. We present as evidence this latest trailer for Kirby and the Rainbow Curse.
We reckon the voice-over may be shouting RAINBOW! in Japanese over and over again, we're not sure, but it's pretty darn cool regardless. Check it out below, for the neat footage of the game if nothing else.
Also, in the interests of being thorough, Nintendo uploaded another commercial that demonstrates the amiibo functionality in the upcoming clay-motion stylus-based puzzler.
It won't be long until this title is gracing stores in Japan and then North America - the European release date is unconfirmed but expected later in the year. Are you looking forward it?

If it's not $20 I'm not buying it.
it's not $20, its most likely $39.99USD, which for me is a stretch, but I'd be surprised if it is anything else.
Oh god this are so cute indeed! Can't wait to play this game.
KURA KURA LAINBOW! UZUMAKI LAINBOW! SUPAH LAINBOW!
Just one more month to wait...
Wasn't too interested in this at first but couch co-op sealed the deal. And after playing Rayman Legends' Murphy levels Im really looking forward to sitting back, drawing rainbows, and letting my kids do all the heavy lifting
Not offering a Kirby amiibo bundle w/ this game is a missed opportunity. Charge $40 for the normal game, $50 w/ Kirby. It might even entice more people to buy the others. Well if Nintendo bothers to make enough that people can actually casually buy them w/o having to work for it.
I think we'll just pretend these dont support amiibo. Maybe Yoshi will get a pack in bundle.
@LUIGITORNADO why $20? This is a new big kirby title. The original on the ds wasn't even that cheap.
As with Capt. Toad, $40 sounds like the right price. I would never pay $60 but now it is a must buy. It looks so beautiful.
@PvtOttobot He said rainbow sometimes, and LAINBOW other times...
Oh, those silly Japanese!
If it's get delayed after May in Europe I won't be getting it at all.
@rjejr
Great bundle idea with Kirby amiibo. Or maybe Meta Knight because he's a Best Buy exclusive.
Looking forward to this game, too. My kids love Kirby thanks to Epic Yarn and we love the couch multiplayer gaming.
Incidentally, after playing Hyrule Warriors I'm a bit perturbed that more games don't use two-screen multiplayer. The resolution takes a bit of a dive and the frame rate gets a bit choppier, but it's so fun to split up and shout out strategy while knocking down the hordes.
Wasn't interested in first but the more I see it the more I am. Got Meta Knight and Dedede amiibo's preordered.
Very excited for this!
DA RAINBOW!!!
I've lost all excitement for this after the release date was announced to be 2H 2015
One month to go!
Lainbow!!!
LAAAAINBOW
Surely Japan must have acquired L vs R technology by now.
Can't wait to see the North American version with angry Kirby
@aaronsullivan - But they probably only made 3 Meta Knights (I still see Kirby and Yoshi in Target and Gamestop amongst the Marios, Zeldas, Links, Peaches and Kongs.)
They should bundle Kirby w/ the Gamecube adaptor for 4 player, hardly see that bit of kit mentioned anymore, I don't even know if that means it's in stock now or entirely gone? My weird kids keep using their 3DSs as SSBU controllers so we don't want for the adapter either way.
Amazon has this listed for a release on December 31. Strange, I'm sure they will fix that. This might be the first game I buy in 2015.
Kirby and the rainbow poop coil
Kind of disappointing that the Wii U's first Kirby game isn't a main game. But this looks alright too I guess...
Touch/Kirby: Super Rainbow!
Why can't our games have titles like this? =P
@Superstick
I take it you mean 'not a traditional, typical, overdone platformer', right?
Good, just so we're clear.
God forbid Nintendo try and change up a 25 year old franchise.
Have fun with your New 3DS, Majora and Xenoblade. So many 'new games'.
I absolutely love the art style here, I'm a huge fan of all those Tim Burton claymation movies so this is right up my alley.
@NodesforNoids I haven't played either of those games yet so technically yes. You're right. In all seriousness though, I thought the last Kirby game (Triple Deluxe) was amazing. So that's why I was a bit disappointed Wii U wasn't getting anything like that. This game still looks good as well though.

I loved Canvas Curse, it is one of my favorite DS games. But going back to play it now seems really odd. It's a relic of the time it was made; a touch screen game with not so stellar controls. That's why I can't for the life of me get excited about this game. I feel like I've played it already. Which sucks, I was looking forward to Kirby's big wii u debut but it looks like Nintendo just sort of copy-pasted their old ideas again, with a fresh coat of paint :/
Are you looking forward to it?
No because I live in Europe.
Aw yis. By the time thos reaches Europe it will be the ten year anniversary of the DS game, a game I never thought I'd see a sequel for. Lord I feel old now.
A no go for me. I don't like that you have to draw everytime some stuff so you can move forward. Old fasion controls/joystick FTW! nuff said
@Superstick and @MetaCrisisIrvin
It's funny how you can both be disappointed in this game for the exact opposite reasons.
This was/is one of my all time favorite games on the DS looks amazing & plays amazing and sounds gorgeous, damm i miss that game.
The game is 3700 yen (30 €/$) and amiibos are 1200 (10 $/€)! Is Japan always so cheap?
@PvtOttobot That was all I heard in these ads XD inb4 it becomes a meme
Kirby always delivers.
Oh wow, so in Japan amiibo costs only 8,5€ per character.
Got to think if I buy some on my next trip then. No use in wasting 16-20€ here on those.
@WaveyChristmas I agree. I actually think it looks pretty neat.
Lol, I understood Lamebo!
