StreetPass groups in the UK are joining forces in order to find the nation's best Super Smash Bros. player.
Qualifying events are already taking place and will continue throughout December and early January, with the grand final slated to take place later in January. As has been the case with other StreetPass UK events, the competition is open to players of all standards and not aimed squarely at Smash experts. Special prizes are planned, with details to follow soon.
Here's what StreetPass UK Editor James Bowden had to say:
StreetPass groups are the fastest growing Nintendo communities in the UK. They tend to attract a wide range of players, from Animal Crossing devotes and Pokémon enthusiasts to, yes, Smash Bros. fanatics.
It’s this reach that makes StreetPass groups the perfect communities to host this tournament, as they tend to be more wide-reaching, and often more easily approachable communities than those focused on one specific franchise. This can often help people become more dedicated fans of games and series’ they might otherwise have less interest in, as well as offering fans of specific series’ great Nintendo communities to be a part of.
As a UK-based site, Nintendo Life is proud to promote and support the activities of StreetPass UK. We recently got to spend some time with StreetPass East Midlands, and you can view the footage below.
