Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind is a promising 3DS action game based on Wit Studio and Production I.G's anime series — which itself is based on Hajime Isayama's original manga. Having performed well commercially in Japan, Spike Chunsoft recently announced an updated "CHAIN" version for Japan this December, to further cash in on the success of the brand.

A Western release has been elusive, though the Australian Classification Board has once again come to the rescue with a listing; it has Atlus USA as the publisher and cites Online Interactivity as a feature, implying it could be a localisation of the newer iteration that includes online play. Atlus has, in recent times, been stepping up its publishing efforts in Europe — beyond its excellent support of the North American market — so this PAL listing certainly suggests that the localisation will be hitting all major territories.

Pleasing news for fans of the anime outside of Japan. We'll keep an eye out for official updates, but in the meantime below is a trailer for the CHAIN iteration that's confirmed for Japan.
