Video: Atlus Unleashes the Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth Opening Movie

Link a James Bond opening, after a dozen energy drinks

The arrival of Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth later this year on 3DS no doubt has series and RPG fans interested. Hitting North America on 25th November and Europe on 28th November, it's the first Persona game on Nintendo hardware and will blend a new art style with gameplay elements from the Etrian franchise.

Its Japanese release has brought some footage of the Battle System, for example, but like any RPG worth its salt this title will have something just as important (or not) — a flashy opening sequence. It's tradition to get in the mood for an epic adventure with a stylish movie and upbeat song, and this one delivers. Atlus has released the opening movie for the Western release, and it's cornea-burning; pretty darn slick, too.

Check it out below and let us know what you think.

I've been a day one 3ds Atlus gamer since day one of the 3ds. However these 50$ price tags are starting to get to me. Not saying it's not worth it but why is Atlus the only one here in the States trying to get away with this. I want to play this game just as much as any other on my 3ds but I also want to send a message that I won't pay that much. I will get this on a sale down the road as I really want to play it but Fantasy Life just got bumped ahead of this because of the price for me!

At least SMT IV had more to offer plus the eshop credit as well but still cannot for the life of me understand how the eshop price was also 50$

This opening movie is pretty old to me, since I had seen the Japanese opening awhile back ago, except this one has a release date for us in the US :P

Anyway, I'm pretty hyped, this is going to be my first Persona game, I have seen the other games on YouTube to get caught up with the story(Though I know this is a non canon spinoff).

Though they really need to drop the price on the e'shop, it bothered me how Shin Megami Tensei 4 was $50, though the good thing about Atlus is that they tend to give us price drops a lot, I got SMT4 for $29.

@Spoony_Tech I feel the same way man. And ditto about Fantasy Life too xD I've been waiting for that one forevers. Atlus is also fond of eshop sales so I'll just wait on this one. Even though I love Atlus, $50 for an Etrian Odyssey game is $10 too much :*

Preordered the limited edition already, glad Europe finally gets something this nice that doesn't require me to get a different region system, since region locking! And I can't get enough of Etrian Odyssey series, so it's more than welcome.

Of course it feels like a "James Bond opening", the game's logo just oozes the feel of the Austin Powers trilogy. Groovy, baby!

I've seen this opening so many times already haha... Well, I already have my hands on the CD that comes with the Japanese version, so I've heard the full extended version of this song thousands of times in my car (literally have 2 discs that I've made full of Persona music in my car..)
