At the very least Nintendo has a number of confirmed games that it can show off, both for Wii U and 3DS. Realistically we can hope for news on Mario Kart 8 and possibly Bayonetta 2, while Kirby: Triple Deluxe may get a date -- it's out in Japan in a few weeks!

Crazy predictions time. Aaaaaaand... GO!!!

Nintendo of Europe's spinning countdown says 15 minutes. Get the snacks in.

If you refresh the page you'll see a new graphic on the stream for 2pm. NoE to the rescue, crisis averted!

Perhaps the fruit angle should come back. Thoughts?

30 minutes to go. Nintendo Direct is always fun, release dates and lovely footage are welcome.

If you can't see the stream window refresh now. And don't worry about that "3pm" start time it's showing, that's an error. Come on Ninty, sort out that graphic!

Let's round up what we know so far. The broadcast will be around 33 minutes, and will feature Wii U and 3DS games coming in Spring 2014. In terms of hints, Hideki Kamiya has tweeted a tease that he'll appear (probably Bayonetta 2 if he's being sincere) while today's Smash Bros. screen mentions the Direct, which could mean something or nothing...

Ho ho ho! Merry Nintendo Direct! If you're in North America you may want to hit up our live stream of NoA's broadcast. We're all Europe, all the time here, and we're ready to go. Well, at 2pm.
