The latest UK chart results are here, and they make nice reading once again for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, as it secures third place after two weeks in second spot. While the number one spot has eluded it due to The Last of Us performing well on PS3, it's nevertheless been an impressive run for the title in the UK market; it should also be noted that the UKIE statistics don't take into account download sales.
Elsewhere in the list a few 3DS exclusives are still battling it out in the top 40, though with a slight loss of momentum. Luigi's Mansion 2 is now in 15th place, UKIE lists Donkey Kong Country Returns in 28th place, but we suspect that it actually means Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D; LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins is the straggler of the top 40 3DS exclusives in 31st place.
In the next few weeks we have Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros. on 3DS and Wii U's Pikmin 3 arriving in Europe. The latter's arrival on 26th July will surely be watched closely by Nintendo, as it represents the first major release of a planned Wii U fightback.

Hmmm... And I thought it would keep up since it's still in the 6th place in Japan after all this time. But good work, nonetheless.
Really hope Nintendo will up their advertisements as well - hope for some optimism after Pikmin
Unfortunately I have my doubts as to how much of a system seller Pikmin will be. The brand hasn't got the same presence as other of Nintendos big names, especially amongst the more mainstream audience, and strategy games can be quite a difficult sell anyway.
I have a feeling this Christmas might be another slow one for the Wii-U, picking up afterwards with the release of Mario Kart.
Damn, now ive got the chorus to hangin tough in my head!
This is what i get for having older sisters who were into new kids on the block!
shakes fist at Thomas
They need a big ad campaign for Pikmin 3 or the numbers won't be anything special. With a big push they can shift some hardware and software to boot.
Not taking into account download sales severely disadvantages Animal Crossing. The game was made to be downloaded! I imagine it would be in second if downloads were counted.
