Bunny

Last month we exclusively revealed Neko Entertainment would be bringing Kung Fu Rabbit to the Wii U at some point in April.

Well we now have an official release date - European Wii U owners will be able to hop into the eShop and download it from 18th April.

Kung Fu Rabbit is a 2D platformer and was originally developed by Cazap and Ctools for iOS and Android. It was quite successful and Neko decided to take it upon itself to pick up the game and build a more optimised Wii U version with more accurate controls.

Naturally, you play as the Kung Fu Rabbit on a mission to rescue your bunny mates from certain doom. They've all been kidnapped by Universal Evil, whose sole aim is to cook them up for dinner.

Players will be able to kick their way though Kung Fu Rabbit using either the Wii U GamePad, Wii U Pro Controller, Wii Remote or Classic Controller. Plenty of options, we're sure you'll agree.

Neko Entertainment revealed to us in our recent developer interview that the game will support off-TV play. If you're using the TV the GamePad screen displays a map.

Neko Entertainment has informed Aussie Gamer the North American version should be released roughly two weeks later. Its other eShop title, Puddle, took a couple of months to make it across the pond - it looks as though the wait won't be as long this time. Incidentally, Australia will get the game on the same day as Europe.

Will you be downloading Kung Fu Rabbit? Check out the launch trailer again and let us know what you think to it in the comments underneath.
