We're all a bit in the dark with this one

Nobody seems to know very much at all about the Wii U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines. The first person shooter was released on other platforms back in February and was supposed to be released for Wii U in the system's launch window - which is set to close on 31st March.

There have been rumours that the title has been postponed, however SEGA has confirmed that it will be released in the first quarter of 2013 as planned.

Last week a SEGA representative said there was no further news on the supposedly upcoming release, while Demiurge, the developer behind the Wii U edition, said it had no comment on it either.

It now appears that Gearbox, the developer behind the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC versions of Aliens: Colonial Marines, doesn't know if the title will ever see the light of day at all on Wii U, never mind make the launch window.

Speaking to GameSpot, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said:

We'll see. That's not our call. I think [Demiurge Studios] did amazing work. I think it's really cool, but Sega's got to figure that out. We're doing the best we can.

It looks as though the fate of Aliens: Colonial Marines is firmly in the hands of SEGA. The publisher again declined to comment.
